Herbalists crave this kind of information! Cooking with wild foods is a lost art, a tradition that goes back hundreds of years but has been washed away by modern convenience. The artwork in this book is exquisite. I just love this book - it is very useful and herbs and wild foods are great medicine for whole health.

First let me say that this is a lovely book, well illustrated and interesting. I also have to admit that I would have probably given it 5 stars if it wasn't a $40.00 book. For me, however, I enjoy a more old fashion way of eating and my connection with wild edibles come from the old ways of cooking. This is definitely a book for the new foodie way of cooking and eating. The simple recipes like omelets are good, but then again, omelets are an easy way to use wild edibles. There's a few other recipes that I will tweak for my own taste, but nothing jumps out as something I couldn't live without. I guess I was thinking for $40.00 and the glowing reviews this might be different. I have many foraging books and this will be one of them and I will enjoy it, but no more than the $15.00 books that I have on the shelves.

This book is gorgeous! Its illustrations are fantastic! I love how the botanical illustrations feature the parts of the plants as well as show the plant itself. The recipes that accompany the illustrations sound divine! This beautiful book captures foraging, wildcrafting, plant identification, and delicious recipes to make with the foraged plants. I love this book! It is a wonderful addition to have in my collection. A great cookbook to eat from nature and the wild!

This book is equally gorgeous and useful. The stunning illustrations make it easy to identify plants in the wild, and the text goes beyond standard foraging guides. They provide useful information about what parts of the plant to forage in specific seasons, how to use the plants and offer delicious recipes to get you started. This is a great book for anyone who really loves food, nature, and beautiful books! Dina Falconi shares her amazing wisdom based on years of experience using these plants. This is the kind of wisdom that should be passed down from generation to generation. If more people could forage and cook with this knowledge, I know the world would be a better place. And I certainly want to decorate my house with Wendy Hollender's botanical illustrations. They're both beautiful and informative. Highly recommended and always a great gift!

I'm already a forager who likes to cook, and Falconi's book takes me to a new level entirely. The beautiful illustrations give exactly the details needed to clearly identify these plants and the recipes are enticing. It's full of the practical information one needs when learning the habits necessary for successfully living from nature's true bounty. This book is not about wilderness survival. It's about thriving and luxuriating in the natural world with the gifts we are abundantly given.

What a gorgeous book. Filled with stunning illustrations that clearly show the featured plants in wonderful detail. The recipes are all easy enough to prepare and sound like they will be delicious. Could be the best gift I got all year. Cannot wait for Spring so I can try some of these.
