About the Author

Pearce J. Carefoote was the curator of the 2005 exhibit Nihil Obstat: An exhibition of banned, censored & challenged books in the West–1491—2000, at the Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library, University of Toronto. In 2002, he was the winner of the Ontario Library Association Anniversary Prize, the Rare Books and Manuscripts Award, and the Toronto Area Archivists Group Award. He is currently a staff librarian at the Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library.
