4.5 stars. Wow! Fresh, different, sensual, erotic., October 31, 2008
This review is from: Forbidden Fruit (Paperback)
REVIEWER'S OPINION:
Well done erotic scenes with good stories. There were two couples in the story. One couple was a female professor and her student - a forbidden relationship, yet they couldn't stay away from each other. I was melting with the way they used food. The tasting and feeling of food was sensual and sexual. A second couple involved a woman who needed to be commanded and taken over. Gideon did that. He was mysterious and secretive. There was almost no talk early in their relationship. For their first encounter, he saw her, grabbed her hand, and took her into a janitor's closet without a word before or after. He told her what, where and when to do things. They had sex in public places with a risk of being seen. Their relationship was also well done. I had trouble deciding between 4 or 5 stars for Amazon. I rounded up to 5 since I would definitely recommend buying it, for someone looking for good erotic scenes. Note for some readers: there is one scene with rear door activity.
STORY BRIEF:
Mia is a professor teaching an Alternative Sexuality class. Jagger is 26. He was tired of being a successful chef and left his job to go back to school to major in psychology. He is immediately drawn to Mia. He asks her to coffee. He continues to pursue her. She is afraid of falling in love due to events in her past. The classroom topic of types of sexuality is a small part of the story. Most of the story is about relationships and events outside of the classroom.
Mia's best friend is fellow teacher Karalee. She is used to controlling her relationships with men and has never wanted to have a committed relationship. She meets Gideon who turns her world around with experiences she has never had or allowed herself to have before.

Forbidden Fruit- A Joyfully Recommended Title, November 20, 2008
This review is from: Forbidden Fruit (Paperback)
Mia Rose Curry is a college professor. Her course in alternate sexuality is constantly full and keeps her busy. She doesn't have time to indulge in affairs, content to leave her fantasies at home where she can pamper herself as often as she likes in the privacy of her home. Mia's desires hit her hard when she comes face to face with Jagger James, a student in her class. Jagger makes her think of the forbidden. Jagger makes her think of letting down her inhibitions. Jagger makes her yearn for the impossible - forever with this beautiful but illicit younger man.
Jagger James has returned to school in order to get a degree in something. As a trained chef, Jagger was tired of the rat race and constant chaos, which made him despise his trade. Joining the most popular course at the university, Jagger is floored and can't help but stare at his professor, Mia Rose Curry. Everything Jagger has ever wanted in a woman is staring back at him and while he knows that relationships between students and their professors are strictly taboo, he can't help but tempt fate. He wants Mia Rose and so his tempting seduction begins.
I will never look at another piece of fruit or artfully presented chocolate again without remembering Forbidden Fruit by Eden Bradley. Truly one of the most decadent and satisfying novels I have ever read, Forbidden Fruit is a sensual and artistic smorgasbord of emotions. Each character, whether it is Jagger or Mia, is alive with senses and feelings and yearnings, almost afraid to reach for what drives them. Together they were compliments of the other; each giving as well as taking.
Eden Bradley never fails to capture my attention as a reader. From beginning to end Forbidden Fruit was truly magnificent. I have no choice but to Joyfully Recommend this wonderful written, extremely passionate, and sometimes naughty tale of forbidden love. It made me shiver!

A sexual feast of kink and taboo, February 14, 2011
This review is from: Forbidden Fruit (Paperback)
This book covers a lot of sex kinks and taboos. The main characters are Mia and Jagger. Mia is 33 and teaches a human sexuality class; Jagger is 26 and her student. His age and his being her student were Mia's initial hang-ups, making her resist her attraction to him. She resisted for several chapters, but he really pursued her, and how could anyone continue to resist something so fine like him sitting in the front row of the lecture hall?
He's tall and handsome, with smooth brown skin, like coffee w/ lots of rich cream. He has gray eyes, short curly hair, tattooed tribal armbands and a goatee. All this hunkiness combined with being so sweet and tender at the same time? I thought he was awesome. He really wanted Mia, couldn't stop thinking about her, or fantasizing about her. Just a hot hero. Jagger is so sensitive and sensual. He's like a warm drop of golden, sweet honey. He's not an over the top alpha or anything, but still so very yummy. He calls her baby and baby girl and really wants to give her all his love. He tries very hard to make her see that and to accept that.
So even though it has some sexy interracial romance going, and the age difference and the student/teacher taboo happening, those aren't the conflicts or issues. The main issue is Mia's childhood and her early romantic past. These painful experiences cause her to feel she is unworthy of love and that anyone who loves her will abandon her eventually. She really struggles with the idea of opening herself completely to Jagger, exposing every deep-rooted fear and anxiety about loving a man again, being with him in every way, knowing that nothing in life is certain or forever.
For his part, Jagger is also reluctant to get deeply involved again, but he is so attracted to Mia from the very first day of class. He's unable to do anything but want her. Jagger, who had a painful breakup not long ago, is a chef who has lost his love for food and cooking. That's why he's in her class, working on a Master's and a new carreer maybe. Mia's food fetish reawakens his passion for cooking. I've never read a book which explored food fetish, and this aspect of the book was so erotic. Jagger fulfills Mia's every desire, even ones she's not brave enough to voice. During sex they use wine, chocolate, caramel, whipped cream, powdered sugar and more- it was so HOT. He even lays out the dining room table with chocolate, fruit and edible flowers, but it's Mia who he has climb up onto the table and become the centerpiece. Jagger's sexy kink, the erotic slip and slide of water, is also detailed with sex and masturbation in the shower/bath.
I loved this book and I could probably go on about it. And I haven't even said anything about the secondary characters Karalee and Gideon and their issues and kink, which was completely hot, controlling Dom action. Just be warned- lots of sex, one scene going into the next, as the two sets of couples explore their kinks and their new loves. So it's double the sexiness. Great book to read when you want something erotic with some sweetness to it.
(There is no menage; just lots of hot, erotic sex by the pageful.)
