5.0 out of 5 stars Forbidden Games
This story started out slow but boy did the storyline pick up the more I got into it. Officer Zaria Fuentes is a very zealous person and goes beyond the call of duty to prove herself as a female officer to be able to move up in the ranks. Drew Grissom is her partner and wants more than a friendship with her but keeps those feeling to himself. He has her back and she...

3.0 out of 5 stars Slow but I enjoy the ending
This was a decent story but it was very slow and didn't really pick up until chapter 30. There were only 36 chapters, if you include the Epilogue. It was nice to revisit characters from previous books and I liked the romance between Drew and Zaria. I'm glad I hung in and finished it, even though it took me 5 days to read a book that I could normally finish in a day. It...

He has her back and she thinks it's because she is a woman. She gets a new assignment that involves a former friend who has turned ddirty. Drew manages to get involved to have her back and to protect her at all costs. Things heat up and she finds that she has deep feelings for him too but is afraid it will interfere with their jobs and her heart plus lose her best friend. Danger brings them closer and love prevails in the end. This action packed story will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end. I love how Deirdre brought in characters from her past books like Ariel and Jared. Great story!

1.0 out of 5 stars I couldn't get into it..., November 1, 2011

Admittidly, I'mn not that big on mysteries so the romantic mystery does nothing for me. I couldn't get thorough it for that reason only... too much about crimes and not enough about the love... ifthis is your type of story I would say buy it but if you're like me, I would pass on it.

4.0 out of 5 stars (3.5 Stars) An Action-Packed Romance!, June 13, 2009
This review is from: Forbidden Games (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Two cops that have worked together for the last few years are beginning to see one another as more than co-workers. Officer Zaira Fuentes has always wanted to be a cop because of the neighborhood she grew up in. Growing up in a rough part of New York also affected her choice in men. She always wanted to be in control. Officer Drew Grissom has always been a flirt and a ladies man. That is until he starts to fall for Zaira. Now he just wants to protect and love her. Once Drew confesses how he feels about Zaira, she is not sure she can be with a man like Drew. However, when Drew is shot, everything is put in prospective for Zaira.

Forbidden Games is an action-packed romance by Deirdre Savoy. There are times when the story lags a bit, but for the most part, the story flows. Savoy does a great job taking a heroine in a male-dominated profession and making her feminine and sexy. The chemistry between the main characters is also very believable, which makes for steamy romance scenes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read, March 8, 2009
This review is from: Forbidden Games (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Officer Zaria Fuentes is unsure why her partner Drew Grissom has suddenly become overprotective, even shielding her from a potential perp's unwanted advances. But when guarding her body leads to passion under the covers, Zaria and Drew must confront their true feelings for each other.

Ms. Savoy introduces two strong-headed characters. Zaria is a beautiful woman in a dominant man's field working as a cop. Sometimes she's treated as though she needs someone to watch out for her. She on the other hand feels otherwise. She's confident, forceful and demands respect. Her personal life is nonexistence and she could care less at this point. She's always been close with her friend and co-worker Drew Grissom. Lately he's changed on her and she can't understand why and frankly is running scared.

Drew Grissom is a stubborn man that once he makes up his mind to do something or protect something like Zaria; there's no turning back. He's known for awhile that he has strong feelings for her but; he doubts the feelings are the same for him. So he puts on his aggressive and controlling badge and takes matters into his own hands. Don't you just love man that takes charge like that? Drew is a nice looking man with potential and any woman would find him attractive. He doesn't take orders to well though; but this makes his character exciting. I enjoyed both characters immensely.

The plot was interesting, but if I had anything negative to say it would be that it moved a bit slow in the beginning and finally picked up toward the middle. From there on it was good and I enjoyed it. The main characters were realistic and brought some good action to the storyline.

Overall, this was a good read and I would recommend it.
