Most all Broadway movies will be a bomb!, November 19, 2002
This review is from: Forbidden Hollywood: The Hilarious Musical Spoof Of The Movies (1995 Los Angeles Cast) (Audio CD)
But this CD isn't. If you've ever had the opportunity to see a Forbidden Broadway show or hear one of their CDs, then you know this CD is going to be a treat. It's actually more accessible than some of the Forbidden Broadway recordings since almost everyone has seen the movies parodied on this CD and how many people have seen Blood Brothers or the musical version of Anna Karenina? Okay, some of the numbers are more annoying than funny, but on the whole, it rocks. My favorite lyric is from Audrey Hepburn's Eliza Doolittle singing Dub Me! Anyone who's ever heard me sing will tell you that My talent's wearing a hat! All in all, a very funny CD for movie and muscial fans.

Deliciously Wicked!, July 17, 2000
This review is from: Forbidden Hollywood: The Hilarious Musical Spoof Of The Movies (1995 Los Angeles Cast) (Audio CD)
After incarnation after incarntion of Broadway send ups, Gerard Alessandrini tackles the mystical world of Hollywood. His send ups are hilarious. Probably the most deserving of a parody, Alessandrini's wicked lyrics to familiar songs poke fun at all of Hollywood's big players while showing a sort of irreverent respect for the films we all love. In addition to Alessandrini's wonderful and delightful words is the superb cast of Forbidden Hollywood. Christine Pedi is absolutely superb in her send ups of Liza Minnelli is excellent, down to the mannerisms and the vocal affectations. Susan Blakeslee and Jason Graee are wonderfully hilarious, and Gerry McIntyre is excellent as Whoopi Goldberg. This cast is amazing on stage and work exceptionally well together. This album was recorded live, and is a welcome break from the Forbidden Broadway series, while still staying within the same vein. If you're a fan, I definitely suggest getting it!

If you're into parodies or movies, you will throughly enjoy this. The lyrics are so bitingly clever! I love all the "FORBIDDEN" series and recommend them highly.
