Misleading story-line description,

This review is from: Forbidden Lord (Kindle Edition)
First off, I should say that this book is not in any way a bad book. Being accustomed to reading Regency romances, it was quite refreshing to get a bit of insight into the history of the post-Henry VIII era and having watched The Tudors The Tudors: Seasons 1-3 it was nice to read about his children. The story is well told and the characters are likable. The Heroine is not infuriating and silly as I have sometimes found other romance heroines to be.
However, the description of the story-line is pretty misleading. The last line of the description: "Lord Marston Is Forbidden! But He Can Offer Her Freedom...At A Cost. Is Marriage And A Baby Too High A Price To Pay?" This makes it sound as if the Heroine has to submit to marrying a man she despises very early on in the story and that the story will be about her coming to terms with her marriage and finding out that the man she has married is not as horrible as she thought. Or at least something like it. The story is not like that at all. I will not give a real plot outline here, as I am very bad at not giving away too much :) It is a good book, which I recommend. Just don't let the last part of the description mislead you as my enjoyment would have been greater if I had not been expecting something other than what described. |
