this band is quite possibly the best band ever except they arent sloppy meateaters anymore because their drummer dropped out and took the name with him so they are Under The Weather now and they are still a good band you should check em out.

The best " new" punk band..,

In October 1999 I ran into a band on the internet who had the dumbest name imaginable. So...I thought I'd check them out. I downloaded a song called "Who Cares?" from their demo CD "Eat Meat Cuz It's Fun". I thought it was pretty good, but never thought they'd go anywhere with it. Then they released a full-length CD called "Shameless Self Promotion" and I had to get it. After listening to the CD I had more respect for their music. Then their was a split CD with a band called Napkin. I ordered it. SME was now officially in my Top 10 of all time. The song "Dead Bodies" played over and over on my CD player. Then their new CD "Forbidden Meat", which was named by Fat Mike from NoFx, came out. I got the CD...Now I LOVE this band. I even make sweet, passionate, chocolate love to the CD it's self. Every single song on this CD is amazing...just some better than others. My top 5 in this order are:1. So Long, 2. One Dream At A Time, 3. Lonely Day, 4. Play The Game, 5. Impossible...other amazing tracks are "The Elevens" and......the whole CD..This band has 2 other great un-released songs. One is on the playstation 2 video game "Razor Free-Style" the song is called "Brand New Kind Of" and the other song was on a t.v show in Southern California called "Stand By" the song was called "Stand By"...the song "Fat Chicks" is also on their split CD with Napkin. I encourage everyone to get ALL of their CD's and have a nice life.

Well, after a shameless self-promoter named Josh IM'ed me on AOL and told me to check them out, i went along with it, and soon discovered i had found one of my new favorite bands....Forbidden Meat will become a classic, and should really get more recognition, as this CD gets more and more amazing with each listen. I rate em right up there with good ol' Pennywise and Lagwagon and what not...if you like punk rock, pick up this CD, you won't be disappointed.

I bought this back in 2001, i also purchased there first self promotion cd. both are quite good. out of these two forbidden meat is by far a classic. i would of given this cd a five star rating but most of the songs are a bit to long. they did do a video and it was pretty funny, i think it was lonely day. anyways go pick this cd up. fat chick always pay inside!

Sloppy meateaters is one of those bands that I like to think of as a "well kept secret". They're basically unknown, but upon listening to their music, it becomes a mystery as to why. They've got everything that Blink 182 has; Catchy hooks, funny lyrics, good vocals and colorful personalities, but for some reason, even diehard punk fans are unaware of their exsistence.
On "forbidden meat", the bands second offical release, SME takes the basic same approach to their music as on "Shameless Self-Promotion", making only minor adjustments for some of their songs. The hooks are catchy as ever, and the vocals here seem a bit higher pitched (if you can believe that) than the ones on SSP. Overall, its a good effort, but as with Blink 182's dude ranch, its hard to sit through past 11 or 12 songs in one sitting. Upside: Catchy songs, foot-stomping melody and funny, creative lyrics. Downside: With 15 songs, its just a tad bit too long to take in one sitting. You'll Like SME if you Like: Blink 182 or MxPx.

I have had this cd for a while. They have a new cd coming out in a few months. Anyone who happens to stumble across this, then buy it. They are awsome in every way. If you like punk-popish music. Or just great music in generall then buy this and listen to it. The best song is "SO LONG" on this cd. I can't wait untill their new one comes out.

I love this CD, I don't know why, but I do. It's one of those CD's yo can't help but to love. Every song is really catchy, they sound alot like old Blink 182, especially the song 'I sing like a girl' which Isn't on this CD. But listen to that song, it sounds alot like 'untitled' by Blink 182. My favorite songs on here are 'Lonely day' and 'One dream at a time'. They are one of the only great pop/punk bands around that haven't soldout, which is always good. Get this.

I met the guys from the Sloppy Meat Eaters at one of their concerts last Summer. I had never heard of them, but I heard them playing on a side stage and had to check them out. They were great! I thought they deserved to be playing on the main stage with the more popular bands like Alien Ant Farm and Pennywise. I got to talk with the guys, who are some of the funniest guys I've ever met, and they gave me their promo cd for free. As soon as I found "forbidden meat" I bought it. This cd is hard to find in stores, so it's definently worth it to buy it from Amazon. If you are a true punk fan and you love bands like Pennywise, AFI or old Blink 182, then you should definently buy this cd. And you should go watch SME if they ever come to your city!

amazing, when i first heard the sloppy meateaters shameless self promotion i fell in love. i knew they were a great band, so when i heard that they had a new cd i just had to get it, and believe me i was not dissapointed. from the fast paced hard hitting opening track play the game, to the end of the album with so long, i never stopped wanting to listen. i love these guys and they're just as good live as they are on the cd. check them out you won't be sorry.
