1.0 out of 5 stars Celebrating a Charlatan
Jimmy Keller was a former medical device salesman who touted the virtues of Tumorex, a concoction of an amino acid and DMSO, a useless sulfur compound that was promoted by various people in the '70s as a cure for everything from arthritis to cancer to heart disease. Keller ran various Mexican clinics where a variety of quack treatments were offered. The web site...

4.0 out of 5 stars A "must read" for anyone who wants to know about cancer cure, January 3, 1999

This review is from: Forbidden Medicine (Paperback)
It always struck me as odd that one of the so called "cures" or inhibitors of cancer was poison (chemotherapy). Why would you want to poison your body in order to get healthier? "Forbidden Medicine" confirmed my suspicions and put me on to a more logical path.

Jimmy Keller, while not a medical doctor, appears to be gifted in not only detecting cancers, but in eliminating some and putting others into remission. His use of Tumorex to shrink tumors has been an effective natural medicine and is a non-toxic cancer treatment.

After reading "Forbidden Medicine" and given the decision of traditional over non-traditional and non-toxic therapies, there is no doubt in my mind that I would choose the latter. Read the testimonials alone, at the end of the book, and you decide for yourself.

It is a travesty of justice that Jimmy Keller is in jail, while many could be benefiting from his knowledge and the positive results of his treatment. Ellen Hodgson Brown, lawyer and author, has brought to light the injustice of Keller's sentence and has revealed the more sordid side of the pharmaceutical companies and the American Medical Association's attempts to block alternative medicines to treat cancer.

5.0 out of 5 stars cancer cure with L-arginine, June 24, 2009
It was my great good fortune to run into the book "Forbidden Medicine" by Ellen Brown at about the same time that I developed skin cancer for the first time. After the cancer first appeared I looked on the Internet and discovered information about cancer but was hesitant to trust the information until I had received it from more than one source. When I heard that Ellen Brown had written a book about cancer I had to see if she described cancer the same way as the information I got on the Internet. There was agreement and I am convinced by this and by my experience with cancer that this book is accurate information. I am aware from my experiences with cancer that the book "Forbidden Medicine" is most likely an accurate description of the cause of cancer and of many cancer cures since using the information got rid of my cancer. It was a truly fascinating book.
The first time I battled a few cancer sores I used a combination of Cymilium ( that is a cancer cream sold on the Internet ) and then rubbing salt into the wound to finish the job. But Cymilium is a cure specific to removal of one sore and does nothing to inhibit the appearance of more cancer. The second time skin cancer appeared about a year later I was eager to try something that was going to stop the sores from appearing in the first place. I remembered that "Forbidden Medicine" had suggested taking the amino acid L-arginine. I found a big bottle of it at the local health food store and bought it.
I ingested about half a cup of the stuff over a few days time. The sores I had this time had been subjected to the cancer cream and were displaying the normal difficulty in getting totally rid of them. You have to eliminate every last cancer cell or the things regrow. The cancer cream stings and I had to sting myself several times.

The sores were a few inches around if you include the pink inflammation around them. The cancer itself, I knew by removing some manually by rubbing salt in, and by reading descriptions of basal cell carcinoma on the Internet, had a typical characteristic. They are round and red with a tiny dimple in the middle. If you have experience with removing them with salt rub as I have done a few times you have seen the little formations each time you hack away at one of these things.
This particular group of sores were treated early as I had spotted them early. They were about a quarter of an inch around inside the larger area of inflammation. Here there was a bloody scab. There was a bloody scab where I had been using the harsh chemical, dilute ammonium hydroxide, needed by the cancer cream to be effective.

I thought "Using L-arginine will probably take weeks or months". Imagine my delight when a few days into the ingesting of L-arginine that the little red centers of the cancer sores fell right out leaving a pink indentation where the cancer had been.

I had not imagined I could be that lucky and I was ecstatic. I highly recommend the book and the information is priceless and could save many lives. What this book reveals about our current medical profession is truly disturbing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Forbidden Medicine would make a great movie, April 13, 2008

(REAL NAME)
I found myself getting really excited while reading Forbidden Medicine. I would be looking forward all day to reading more. Someone should make a movie of this book. Jimmy, once good looking but now disfigured by surgery yet still charismatic, would make a great protagonist. Yet,even better, he is real and his story is true. I began the book for the information on cancer. As I read I would be saying "Yes, I've suspected that all along" like pieces of a puzzle fitting together. The author's writing style is friendly and easy to read. I enjoyed the way we can relate to her and the way she takes us back in time. But it is knowing the truth that makes this story exciting - exciting and sad and frustrating. Thank you, Ms. Brown!

5.0 out of 5 stars A page-Turner!, May 28, 2008
This book is a great read - I simply could not put it down! I have long been aware of the influence of Big Pharma and the medical industry on the suppression of alternative therapies that have potential to alleviate much suffering. This book demonstrates very clearly the extent to which they are prepared to go to exert their power and control over `the little guy', but perhaps more importantly, the clear and present danger of the co-operation of government at all levels in the execution of their control mechanisms.

It is so very important that the public continue to be educated about the insatiable and repulsive greed of multi-national corporations that underscores so many aspects of life, but particularly in health, nutritional and agricultural industries. It will only be when there is a critical mass of informed individuals that there is any hope of these manipulations being overturned. It is so very important that the struggle for the freedom to choose be maintained.

Ellen Brown has done a great job and `Forbidden Medicine' makes a very important contribution towards that end. Yes, it would make a great movie, but The Powers That Be would probably not allow it!

5.0 out of 5 stars A sad but true story!, October 3, 2009
By
My wife was successfully treated for breast cancer and lymphoma by Jimmy Keller.
There were no drugs, surgery, or chemo therapy used.

This book exposes one of the most scathing indictments of the power of big pharma/medicine
to destroy countless lives through boundless greed and arrogance.

Jimmy was martyred in his quest for medical freedom and sincere help to all of humanity.

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST READ!, April 18, 2010

This review is from: Forbidden Medicine (Paperback)
Jimmy Keller was a saint, yet you will find these "quack watch" websites demonizing him on the net. The quackwatch sites are paid for by pharmaceutical companies. Nothing in this book is a surprise for me, but for some of you it might be. If you have cancer you must read this book. Jimmy saved probably thousands of lives by mainly alternative health means. This made him a prime target and a scape goat because of his tremendous high rate of success in treating people with all kinds of cancers and AIDS. There is a law in this country that ONLY DRUGS CAN CURE DISEASE. This is one of the biggest lies there is. Drugs MASK disease symptoms or are a band=aid treatment like antibiotics which often make things worse in the long run. The alternative health methods have existed for thousands of years and have proven results with very little side effects, using natural herbs, and mind/body treatments, and yes "energy" work. Keller was brutalized and was nearly murdered by our government, using covert means and methods, there is no conspiracy plots here, this stuff really happened. They couldn't kill him, so they kidnapped him from Mexico, illegally and held a monkey trial, a total farce and put him in jail, then proceeded to close down most of the bordertown cancer clinics in Mexico. The charges against him were all false and witnesses were bought by the defense and blatantly lied to in order to turn them against Jimmy. This is the "free" country we all live in...

Pay attention to this book because in it there the agenda in black and white of what is going to happen to this country while everyone is asleep. Pharmaceutical companies are tremendous political power in this country and they can't compete against natural methods, because they can't patent things like tumeric root and sell it for horrendous profits. They can't cure cancer with drugs and the book has plenty of the suppressed material and studies done by researchers in approved scientific labs, that drug companies and the government don't want you to know about. Their ultimate goal is to take natural supplements completely off the market and made illegal, including vitamins and minerals. So if you need some vitamin C you will have to go to your doctor and get a prescription. Every year they chip away at the laws towards this goal. Fortunately we now have the internet and cancer cures by simple cheap natural means can't be suppressed as they used to be and you can find information in countries where they actually care about healing people instead of making billions of dollars selling poisonous drugs that don't do anything except make you sicker. The only cancer survivors I know personally are people who didn't go to doctors, who pretty much now days, are just drug pushers; even on TV with all these stupid drug commercials and the 300 negative side effects they all seem to have, the advertisers tell you to "see your prescriber." What ever happened to seeing a "doctor?" If I ever get cancer I won't go to a doctor and be tortured and burned and have parts of me cut off my body, I will use natural means, go to another country, or just die with dignity and not be subjected to the horrors of medical "science." What science? The real science shows us cancer treatments in use, radiation and chemotherapy are abysmal failures......

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read!, April 11, 2008
By
D. B. (Baton Rouge, LA) - See all my reviews
Someday, hopefully soon, conventional medicine (allopathy) may begin to discover how to successfully treat cancer. Until then, there's a lot of money being made by a cancer industry with powerful, immensely well-funded support. "Forbidden Medicine" is about a little, credible guy on the alternative side who helped a lot of sick people, saved lives and who, in so doing, caused the wrath and weight of corporate and federal forces to be arrayed against him. This true story is not only a great read but preserves important information about some little-known alternative health treatments.

5.0 out of 5 stars I've met some survivors., January 5, 2010
I too was a cynic once who thought it was only about quackery. But I've met real live folks who survived cancer by using the natural methods Keller advocated, and several who feel they owe their lives to him. The story this book tells should be read by anyone concerned about cancer, about law enforcement and/or about dogma in the conventional medicine. We have our modern version of witch hunts now, and this was one of them. Sad too.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Conspiracy Theory", December 21, 2008
The supporters of Big Pharma and the Medical Establishment i.e. the general public, would call this story part of a greater conspiracy theory. Unfortunately it is not theory. It is the sad truth. As long as we support the continued drugging of America by participating in the medical system at all, we cannot expect anything to change. It is not about having medical coverage (Obama); it is about having "health" care rather than "disease" care. It is a good book and a great story. Everyone should read this book and then pass it on to a congressman. The "war on cancer" is our very own killing field. It is a war against a cure - a cure that is forbidden. Our medical doctors share the blame. They facilitate the Jimmy Keller story on a daily basis. Ellen Brown has done a great service by writing this book. Thanks!

5.0 out of 5 stars Be Informed, January 17, 2010
Forbidden Medicine is a true story about a man and a system more than about any particular alternative medical therapy. Critics may argue against alternative therapy or against Ms. Brown's philosophy, but they can't argue that the facts are not valid. I knew Jimmy Keller long after the events in the story took place. I knew him to be a sincere man, true to his calling to make life a better experience for those who had been diagnosed with cancer and given up on by the conventional medical community. He risked everything, including his freedom and his own health to help others. I am a cancer survivor who underwent conventional therapy. Obviously, it worked for me. It didn't work for a loved one of mine. She endured conventional therapy, which did what it could but at great cost. When all else failed, alternative medicine gave her more time, and quality time at that. Ms. Brown's book reveals options not available to us through conventional means. We need to be aware, and I thank her.
