Put this CD in. Get out the Rum, fruit juices and tiki mugs. Mix up a batch of Myrtle Bank Punch. Leave your cares behind.

The Forbidden Sounds of Don Tiki is filled with gongs, flutes, marimbas, organs, drums, birdcalls, jungle ambience and island crooners. As if that wasn't enough, the legendary Martin Denny even sits in on a few tracks.

If you need a soundtrack for your backyard hipster BBQ or you just want to drift away on your own island fantasy, this CD is essential!

If you're an exotica fan and like the music of Martin Denny, Les Baxter, Arthur Lyman, Robert Drasnin, Eden Ahbez, or Hawaiian music you'll love this CD! Recorded and produced in Honolulu by Taboo Records this CD is a must have. Buy it - I guarantee you won't be disappointed! Martin Denny even makes a guest appearance on 2 of the tracks and his wonderful piano solo on "Forever and Ever" is alone worth the price of admission. This CD has it all - bird calls, jungle sounds, sultry female vocals, congos, bongos, xylophones, vibraphones, flutes and much more. Jim Howard's use of the flute, alto flute, and bass flute is particularily enjoyable and refreshing. This CD contains a pleasing mix of styles and rythyms, some are slow and soft and others have a beat that will make you want to get up and dance. This is perfect music for your next Tiki party or Hawaiian luau, or you can play it like I do to just relax and let your mind pleasantly wander. In any case, I must give this CD 5 stars. For pure listening pleasure, it just can't be beat.

While visiting Hawaii on vacation, I took a gamble on the hip tiki-style cover and soon realized that I had found a gem among the fodder. These sultry and exotic beats will transport you to that tiki-torched lounge by the lagoon, while sipping your Mai-Tai. This is it!
