These days, FUSION comes in two categories: 1)Fuzak, Air-Pudding, Easy-Listening, Smooth-Jazz, Hot-Tub Music etc. or 2)Modern Electric Jazz with "Balls". This is a great example of category 2. Thoughtful compositions, tight ensemble playing, and burning solos by gifted players make the Forbidden Zone very memorable. If you enjoy the fiery playing of artists like Scott Henderson, the late Bob Berg, Jeff Andrews, Dennis Chambers, and Tom Coster himself, by all means, pick this one up!
