Force Recon,
By A Customer
This review is from: Force Recon: Inside U.S. Marine Corps Force Reconnaissance [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This video was a GREAT insight into what FOrce Recon does and how it picks its recruits. No wonder the Marine Corps uses it at recruiting stations for prospective Marines. I liked the way it was done - not much narration and good, quality interviews. These guys are awesome and it's good that someone finally did a documentary on Force. AWESOME VIDEO - where's the sequel?

EXCEPTIONAL video! Loved the fast paced, technical info and interviews. Have not seen this type of footage before most likely shot in North Carolina or Camp P. If you're into Force Recon or Special ops, this is the video for you! (...)Very much worth the money. Perfect if you're going in toForce or just want to know more about it. Buy.

YOU GOTTA HAVE THIS ONE!! WHOEVER WROTE A BAD REVIEW IS MOST DEFENITELY A COMPETITOR, WHO HAS MADE A SIMILAR VIDEO THAT ISN'T EVEN CLOSE TO HOW WELL THIS ONE IS!! I'VE BEEN IN THE MARINE CORPS FOR 15 YEARS, AND HAVE MANY FAMILY MEMBERS IN IT TOO. IF THERE IS A SINGLE VIDEO THAT WILL TELL YOU ABOUT IT ALL, THIS IS IT!!

I can't believe I actually paid for this,
This review is from: Force Recon: Inside U.S. Marine Corps Force Reconnaissance [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This video was just not very informative. It was just not what I had hoped for. You would expect to learn a lot watchin a documentary on Force Recon, but THERE WAS NO NARRATOR...NO EXTRA INFO ABOUT WHAT WAS GOIN ON. What you got was ... footage(although that wouldnt mean much if the content was good) with some annoying music, however most of the time it was just silent-with the same shots and footage. But that's not what made it so bad. It was the complete lack of information that ruined the video.

it is an ok movie,it seems cheap, and it doesnt have a narrator to tell about force recons past or present,it uses guys from 1st force recon company to give a little detail about what they are,but it does show the selection day, which looks hard,if you really want something to see about force recon get it,but if you know alot about them,i dont recommend spending your money

I'm so disappointed. What a low budget production. All you can see in the video is only footage of training and screening process. That's all. It's the worst special ops video I have ever seen. Take my advice, don't waste money on this one.

Overall, great video. Gives you a glimpse of what Force Recon is all about. Not too many know about them, but they're just as equal/similar as Navy SEALs, and other "Special Operations". I recommend this video to anyone who wants to be Recon. Very motivating.

No Ranger School for Recon Marines.,
By Lucana A. (Los Angeles, Ca) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Force Recon: Inside U.S. Marine Corps Force Reconnaissance [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Marine Recon is not equalled to Navy Seal or the other Special Operations Forces. Force Recon is the equivalent of the U.S Army Ranger. They both do the same types of missions. In fact, volunteers for Force Recon have to go to Ranger School. Fprce Recon does not operate like US Army Special Force, Navy Seal, Air Force PRJ, or Delta. Jacob Petion.
This is completely untrue. Rangers are glorified infantry. The only army school Recon Marines go to is jump school which is taught by Marines when training Marines. The only reason Force Recon is not as mainstream as the Navy Seals or Delta is because up until sometime last year Marine Coprs Special Ops wasn't considered special ops. They're mission was different and didn't fall under SOCOM. And also because they don't have a movie or a PS2 game named after them. Not taking anything away from the Seals but to compare them to Army Rangers is ridiculous in every way possible. Sorry to burst your bubble Jacob. How's that 3rd level of Socom 3 going for you.
