Don Swayze as a backwoods redneck comes as natural as Nino playing Jessup in the Death Ring remake,
By Sid the Elf (North Pole) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Forced to Kill (DVD)
First Sid would like to take a moment to recognize their favorite actor Mr. Donald Swayze, as he once again left us speechless playing a backwoods redneck in the straight to video release Forced to Kill. He made his mark on the film world in Trapper County War and left us completely speechless as John Blackwell in the 1993 critically acclaimed release of Death Ring. Obviously the writers of Forced to Kill knew they had to capitalize on Swayze's white hot acting streak if they wanted their film to reach success among the masses. Sure the masses may consist of two of the worlds finest B enthusiasts, but honestly that's all that really matters in the end. When given the opportunity to see yet another film starring our beloved Don Swizzle, we had no choice but to give right in. This brings us one step closer to viewing everything Don Swayze has given his disfigured face to.
Forced to Kill starts off with a hotshot named Johnny who transports repossessed cars for a living. He gets an offer to transport a jag across country in 3 days but gets stopped in his tracks by the farmer that tries to kill Newman. Wait a second, didn't we just see him in Universal Soldier? Man this guys really gets around....good job farmer. It all starts when Johnny comes to the rescue of a small towns drifter, who just happens to be Sid favorite Clint Howard! Yeah seriously Clint Howard was cast a a drifter, a role he seemed all too comfortable playing. Anyway, Johnny winds up crashing his car on the back-roads due to a trap set up by non other then Don Swayze and his hick brother (the guy that smashes Glen Ghoulia with the drink cart in Wedding Singer). Yeah this film was packed with only the best. After swayze sets Clint Howard on fire before shooting him dead, they kidnap Johnny in order to force him to fight in their farmer dad's underground fighting ring. Being that the town Sheriff and cops are a bunch of juiced in cowboys, Johnny has no choice but to fight. Naturally he busts loose and kills everyone in sight, as this movie is predictable at every turn. Forced to Kill was one of those little gems you'd expect to see no earlier the 1 am on the sleaziest movie channel you could find. That's what make's it so great! This johnny guy was packing in the one liners attempting to be funny, sexual, and violent all packed into one massive B meat head. He was mildly entertaining at best and paled in comparison to the on screen legend duo of Clint and Don. Swayze overwhelmed the movie as the true definition of a redneck, sporting a Mcqueen style sleeveless plaid. As he smacked Johnny around, zapping him with a cattle prod you just can't help but watch in astonishment. Major accolades also go out to Clint Howard who played the drifter role to perfection. However we suspect they were filming the movie and just stumbled across Clint Howard eating out of the trash, then said "hey Clint you want to make $37 and get in on this movie?" So obviously you need to do yourself a favor and watch Forced to Kill.
