This exhaustive look at Ford's design department's concept cars during its wildest, most innovative period is singular. I collect books on the topic and nothing comes close to this one in its detail. A bit more emphasis on the personalities than I might prefer but on the other hand, it's high time the individuals behind Detroit's (and Dearborn's) most baroque era get some credit. An abundance of heretofore unpublished photos is worth the price alone.
I will use this book as a research source in preparing Cartopia, my own upcoming book on 20th Century concept cars.

This was written at a crucial moment in history, when many of the designers were still alive. It's an astonishing, triumphal work, of interest to anyone studying the evolution of design.

Ford Design Department Concept & Showcars 1932-1961 is simply the best book on Ford styling, with photos and facts available nowhere else. It's a must for 1932-1961 Ford products fancier.

Unfortunately the book is hard to find. I was trying to get it since it was published in 1999!
