With the great price of this game and the chance to race the new mustang, i could not pass this one up. I have not played the previous Ford Racing games, but this one is pretty good. It may not be very realistic, but its plenty fun with all the various modes of race and 55+ cars to drive. You can adjust the difficulty for the challenges, and even on the 'easy' setting this game presents the proper challenge. The music is pretty cheap but it makes up for it in the sounds of the motors, you can clearly hear the whine/hiss of the turbos, and deep rumbles of engines especially in the muscle cars. Also the graphics are very nice, no pop-up problems or jagged edges i could see. The cars themselves look great. The variety this game gives is probly the best part. I cant think of another racing game where you get to race cars and trucks, with off-road, road, and highway tracks, and so many race modes. My only complaint(s) would be for some reason your cars headlights stay off (and cant be turned on) at night. Its kinda annoying to have to raise the brightnaess on your tv to see clearly since the headlights dont work, ive never seen that in a racing game. Also the spine of the clamshell case has the cheapest cover art EVER in a video game. It just has the game title in solid black print on a plane white background, ive never seen art so unoriginal. But with this price you really cant loose. Its a must buy for anybody who even slightly likes Ford cars, especially thoes who like racing games. I highly reccomend.

Wow, where do I start? I am more of a racer gamer as that's what I do in real life and it doesn't take 12 buttons to play. The graphics are crisp, the sound effects are very accurate from the screaming of the 4 cylinder concept rally car to the lopey, deep V8 sounds of the mustangs and trucks(also some tach up quicker than others, nice touch of variety that they don't all sound or react alike). There are SO many different races. There is a ford "challenge" where you compete in arcade type races such as points for driving over the green stars, deducted points for the red stars(which are right next to the greens and can be easily slid into) and there is a ford "competition" mode that is more realistic car racing. The "challenge" mode unlocks many cool cars that I've never even heard of, concept cars that are very rare but if you are a FORD guy(which I'm a big 3 guy, like any of dodge, chevy or ford products), you HAVE to get this game, especially at the reasonable price. It has cars from 73 mach 1, 72 ranchero GT, gran torino's, lightning trucks, concept lightning, a variety of trucks and t-birds and mustangs(even the newest bodystyle of 2004). There are environmental challenges present in every race of the "challenge"; NONE take place all on concrete. Some are in snow, some gravel, some sand- generally a mix is present in every race and they even have some jumps and streams of water for the trucks. I highly recommend this game due to the variety, the huge collection of different races to play AND the ability to adjust them EASY, NORMAL, or HARD. The detail is crisp, action is fast and lifelike(having to incorporate powerslides into some of the S-turns and alternate throttle, brake or a little of each). What have you got to lose at the price of a fast-food meal- BUY IT!

I'm more of a Chevy guy but this game was fun anyways. You can collect all kinds of Ford cars and trucks and use them in races. Also, you can get mustangs and a cool looking '61 pickup.
I recommend this game to Ford guys, racing guys and some Chevy guys. This game is also easy to complete and is a great price.

Ford and the maker of this game did a great thing.
Instead of charging more for the Ford name, it is discounted, since it is mostly an ad for Ford. They use what must be a 2 or 3 year old "game engine", but tried and true. It works. This is definetely a good game. They should give you a free copy when you visit a Ford dealer, but hey.....

A Great Game At A Used Price,

I like racing games - only, I'm not very good. I own Gran Turismo 4, the Lexus of this genre, and though it has phenomenal graphics and probably presents the most realistic driving conditions of any racing game, it's way over my head. I grew up in the 1980's where all a guy had to do was push a button and steer, so I don't expect much. I want a game that's a cinch to operate and fun to play because I simply do not have the time to invest in it. It's supposed to be a form of recreation, not frustration.
"Ford Racing 3" is just that - fun to play and simple to learn. I purchased the game because I love antique cars and was looking for a game that one could race a Model T(the same reason why I purchased Gran Turismo 4, only you have to win 1st place in everything to earn it). This game lets you race a 1923 Center Door that's pretty close to the real thing. I own a 1927 Tudor Sedan and would say that, though I've never seen a stock T go above 50 mph (this one goes 70+), the engine sounds exactly like the real thing and it handles similarly. There are some glaring inaccuracies for those who are into vintage T's - Model T's only came with two gears, not four, (unless you have a Ruckstell, which makes it a four speed) and did not come with brake lights, so the one you're seeing is actually the running light for night driving. Of the other vintage cars, one can drive a 1931 Model A roadster and cars from 1946 and 1949. Other uncommon vehicles presented in this set are a 1948 F-1 pickup, 1956 F-100 pickup, 1964 Galaxie, 1965 F-100, a 1966 Fairlane, and a 1972 Ranchero. There's a total of 55 cars, including Mustangs, T-birds, modern (up to 2004), concept cars and trucks. There are 26 race tracks, but really only 15 since the majority have a reverse option that's included in the grand total. There are two main modes to unlock the various cars and races: Ford Competition and Ford Challenge. Begin with Ford Competition and race the first three races. You'll find them quite easy compared to the more difficult ones and offer a wide variety, from elimination to boosts. My advice is to collect as many cars as possible in Ford Challenge. This mode has three variations: easy, medium and hard. You can earn all of the cars by winning each of the challenges under the easy mode - again, there's quite a lot of variety here, too: steer between cones, pass "x" number of cars, collect "x" amount of green bonuses while avoiding the red ones, boost, and baton challenges. By earning the majority of the cars, you'll be able to choose the best ones for the Competition races. You also can race others in multiplayer mode. The game has a few downsides and if you're a gamer, you'll be disappointed with the game's simplicity. The majority of the cars fishtail severely and drive similarly. Graphics are OK - not extremely detailed and limited to one color per car, which is a real bummer. I found that the most stable cars are 1949 sedan, 1987 Sierra, 1996 Indigo, 2001 Fortynine, and the 2004 Mustang GT-A. Another downside is that the computer (AI)takes cheap shots in the medium and hard difficulty modes to prevent you from winning. It isn't above teaming up several cars to smash into you or even drive ahead and turn sideways to block you from winning. It's unfortunate, but if you drive agressively and act like they do, you can win. You can't smash up your cars if you hit another car or a guardrail - you simply slow down. The third downside is that the computer "phases" and slows down when too many cars come up to the same spot - like when they're trying to edge you out. On a final positive note, I only paid $1.96 for the game; so, for that price it was worth it. The best thing of all - I get to race the Model T.

All those game review sites were wrong about this game, especially ign. This features a wide array of ford vehicles, some with great speed and some with low speed. It has a championship mode with lots of cups! As you play through the mode it gets more challenging. If you're a huge fan of racing games then I suggest you get this game!

I like this game and some of the cars can be a little fish in the rear when you go and try to turn. Some of them like to slide around corners, but every know and again it can actually help.

I liked the first one allot better than this one. Yes the graphics and sound is amazing and one of the best that the ps2 has made, but this game is VERY hard and i could not even get a fourth of the way done, my older brother could not either. It did not have any cheat codes so i could not even drive my favorite car. It has many more cars and places to go so it is worth the money if u can beat it. It has mostly every single popular ford made. Over 120 veichles total in this game too. It would be an excellent game if u could actually beat it. The graphics r great.
