The original balancer on my car had slipped, so I ordered this as a replacement. The first one that showed up was already damaged, as the rubber that separates the two pieces was protruding a little over 1/4" from the unit. Amazon immediately dispatched a replacement and gave me a return tag (thanks Amazon!) and the next one that arrived was perfect. I guess one slipped through quality control, which is why I always look new parts over as best I can before install. Anyway, the new one has been on for a while now without issue.

Well I think Amazon should do a little research on the quality of products they sell before they are put up for sale. I'm not saying it's Amazon's total fault but it also makes Amazon look bad. Well I thought I'd keep it stock but what a mistake. This particular Item was defective right out of the box. The rubber on the Inertia ring was squeezed out too much which in the long run can cause failure of the Damper and in turn cause catastrophic carnage under the hood. The Timing Pointer was missing. This process of cold pressing manufacturing of Dampers is not acceptable even in everyday use. I had to run out to a local autoshop and purchase a different brand to get the truck on the road for the business again this morning. I got a Powerbond which for a stock Damper is built much better and the price was less. The ring is heat and pressure bonded to the hub. This in turn eliminates slippage and failure of the damper possibly coming apart. I own plenty of Fords, old and new but lately the quality of parts in this country really sucks, to be mild about it. This was an inconvenience to me and time lost for my business. Just because a product says Ford Racing on it doesn't mean it's a quality product. Do your homework first folks....

The balancer fit perfectly with no clearance issues or install problems. I've been running it for a couple of months now on a stock motor and have experienced no problems. It is a great price for an OE type replacement.
