Not sure why it is called a shop manual. A guy in a shop who is depending on this "shop manual" is in real trouble. It is not very comprehensive. The index is wrong, for example- information on the oil pump is not found on the page listed for oil pump info. Parts of the manual are fairly comprehensive but I found it lacking in many areas. It appears to be a botched reproduction of manual that really was a good one. I found the same manual in a tractor store for twice the price, so it is probably worth the money although one would have to seek out other sources of information to "fill in the gaps".

I paid a lot more for this manual at a tractor supply store than what it is offer for here.
I was having electrical problems and needed a schematic, and instructions on how to replace the points.
This manual had no schematic for the 9N and didn't give any insight as to how to get to the inaccessable points. "nseries.com" had all the info I needed.

i recommend this book for anymore who might be looking for a manual for their ford n series tractors. i recieved mine just the other day and its great. the only problem with the manual is the index is alittle off on things but the book is good in getting you started on the road to fixing and repairing your tractor. pictures of parts and instruction is well done

The problem the other reviewers may have had with this manual is that The Index is not numbered by pages. It is numbered by Paragraphs which is stated at the top of page 6 in big bold letters. I have used this manual to restore a 1949 Ford 8N and it is my go to manual. This is also my first restoration so I relied heavily on it.

N-complete sells this manual as part of a set of five manuals. One is a catalog, a parts manual with drawings of ALL parts and where they go, Owners manual, Maintenance manual, and this Shop manual.

If you are restoring or just fixing a Ford N-series or century series tractor google N-complete.

If you are going to have only one reference manual this is the one to have. A reproduction of the original shop manuals. It has more diagrams and parts list then any reference material you will find. The other reviews refer to problems with the table of contents are incorrect. The table of contents list the paragraph number not to the page number.

A COMPLETE SHOP MANUAL IN EVERY WAY. I LOVE IT AND RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE WHO OWNS AND WORKS ON HIS OWN FORD TRACTOR.

I find this book to be a very valuable aid in the restoration work on my Ford 2N tractor. The illustrations are clear and the explanations complete. I strongly recommend this book to any "amateur" mechanics out there who are lucky enough to own one of these wonderful old Ford tractors.

The service manual is very informative in repairing and servicing the N Series tractors. It has all the information anyone would need to do work on this type tractor from the engine to the wheels to the rest of the work needing to be done. It also has the pictures you would need in doing such work. Very good information in this book.

A must have for any owner. I would also recommend the digital version. I have both and they are absolutely necessary. You will save wear and tear of your antique tractor. You need the part numbers to find the correct parts to your tractor. With the books rebuilding and restoring your tractor will be a pleasure, not a chore.

There are also many fine clubs on the internet that will help you with the sticky and tricky troubles that may come from a unkempt tractor of a previous owner.

In this Book it refers to diffrent thing and i can't find it. It should have a section explainging how to find different things.
