A great decade for Ford Motor Company,
By
This review is from: Ford's Golden Fifties: All the Best from Henry II (Hardcover)
This easy-to-read book is a must for any fans of 1950s automobiles, especially Ford products. It begins in 1949, telling the complete story of the legendary "FortyNiner," the car that literally saved FoMoCo. And unlike other books about Ford in the 1950s the complete FoMoCo offering of Ford, Mercury and Lincoln cars is covered with interesting stories and images. You also learn of the intense competition between Ford and Chevrolet for the overall sales lead and how Chevy was not above "cooking the books" so that the Bowtie Boys could maintain the top spot in a particular model year.
Photography is great and gives you a real feel of how great that decade was for life in the United States. As one who lived during that time and whose father bought a new Ford every model year from 1946-73 inclusive the book brings back many fond memories. All in all, a great addition to anyone's library of automobile history books.
