This review is from: News From A Foreign Country Came (Hardcover)
News from a Foreign Country Came was a disappointment. After Manguel charmed me on "Imprint" and at OUTspoken IV I looked forward to reading it, but the book was too "poetic" and it annoyed me that you had to read pages and pages before you figured out who he was talking about. He quickly introduces you to all these people then slowly reintroduces them one by one and you have no idea who he's talking about. The last chapter was one long 20-page sentence. It was too contrived and made no sense being there.
