3.0 out of 5 stars Forensics
This book isn't set for beginners in forensics- it's more advanced and there is a lot of good information for more advanced students. Alot of technical terminology and analysis information.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent textbook, November 5, 2009
I have evaluated several of the forensic textbooks for a course in forensic science and have used both of Saferstein's books (Criminalistics; Forensic Science) in past courses. After viewing James and Norby, I have concluded that it is superior in both coverage and detail to any of the other textbooks and will be using it in courses at the college level for both criminal justice and science majors. No textbook is perfect and some supplementation is always needed, but this book comes the closest to comprehensive coverage of the topic.

This review is from: Forensic Science University Package: Forensic Science: An Introduction to Scientific and Investigative Techniques, 2nd edition (Hardcover)
As a graduate student in Forensic Anthropology I found this book to include nearly all of the information I needed in my undergraduate classes. If I had only had this book before I could have saved a lot of money with all of the other books I have purchased. Not only does it provide information on all the important topics in forensic science there are also several illustrations and photographs to help the visual learners. I highly recommend this book.

This review is from: Forensic Science University Package: Forensic Science: An Introduction to Scientific and Investigative Techniques, 2nd edition (Hardcover)
Excellent book ideal for any forensic science student! Includes detailed information on all aspects of forensic science incl. recent advances in DNA and computer forensics..could not find any topics which were left out. Superbly illustrated with full colour photos. Chapters written by experts in their particular field. Definitely recommended, not only to students but to all forensic practitioners.

4.0 out of 5 stars Forensic Sscience, February 9, 2009
This review is from: Forensic Science University Package: Forensic Science: An Introduction to Scientific and Investigative Techniques, 2nd edition (Hardcover)
Huge book, but an easy read. The chapters are outlined and written in a simple format. The vocabulary is highlighted. Some of the techniques described within the chapters are a bit outdated. Good book to reference for forensic science.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good text book for Forensic Science, January 3, 2011

Interesting part is that this book also uses Fabels to inform you what and how a Forensic Scientist should be thinking and inspecting evidences and stand your own opinion, not affected by disturbing things.

Good for people who are interested in this field.
