Book Description

Sometimes the earth really does move.

Kyle Armentrout is every gay man’s fantasy in a tool belt, but he can’t even change a light bulb without injuring himself. Twice divorced and not long from the closet, he’s found his way into a fulfilling relationship at last, but he can’t quite escape the sense that he’s left his manhood behind in the process.

When Kyle’s latest DIY project slides into predictable disaster, his lover, Eric Mulholland, wants him to retire his Allen wrench and accept that he isn’t less of a man for loving Eric.

Then the fault lines of their relationship meet the fault lines of the 2011 Northeast earthquake, and the two lovers learn not just to stay on their feet when the ground shakes, but to actually treasure the tremble.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not typical story for this writer at all June 30, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have to say that when I purchased this story couple months ago the main reason I did it was because according to blurb and reviews it sounded so unusual for this writer. If you are at least somewhat familiar with this writer's works (I have read three of her other titles), trust me you will be surprised when you pick up this one. I was surprised in a good way - funny, very satisfying contemporary short, where both characters come alive on pages and I could not help but wanted to hug Kyle, who wanted to prove that he is still a man to his lover outside their bedroom. I loved both guys and I really liked how much they sizzled on page and how even in such short space it felt like Kyle may have started to come to terms of who he is. It was even more amusing and sweet since Kyle seemed to have no problem whatsoever knowing what he wanted and getting what he wanted in the bedroom. I thought the ending was a little incomplete though - it was happy and satisfying, do not get me wrong, but metaphor writer used was a bit heavy handed for me. Still a great story with awesome characters.

I love Kari Gregg's work and this little story definitely makes the grade.

It's hot, to the point and IMHO, very sweet.

I am quite happy.

I have enjoyed the writings of Kari Gregg in the past and was willing to try this based on past experiences. This story has the making of an intriguing story but it ends way to abruptly.

This is a short and quick snack. It's sweet and just perfect as a dessert or even better, as an appetizer for something bigger.
