Lovely mello music. Very relaxing, excellent for my holistic therapy treatments and also to play at home.

This in my opinion, is undoubtedly the best album of Dan Gibson's Solitudes. Really good.

This CD should be titled "Forest Piano". The songs are very nice, but I wish there was less piano and more cello. The piano is definitely the dominant instrument on these songs, and being a cello lover this CD leaves me a bit disappointed.

I have long been purchasing stuff from Solitudes before getting to know that Dan Gibson was the man creating the peaceful ambiance.

This album is fantastic. The music isn't mindless, but it is thick enough to enjoy the cello lines and the musical progressions are predictable and comforting. The reason I bought this was for my massage therapy business, and I find myself listening to it long after people have gone home. Being in South Philly it is fantastic to hear all these woodland birds and the different water sounds Dan has collected. Very worth buying.

I love this music! I put it on my mp3 player and listen whenever I need to relax, catch my breath or just want to spend a few moments escaping to a place of peace and tranquility. The richness of the cello envelopes you as you listen to the sounds of nature, easily imagining yourself in an Autumn forest. I highly recommend this music for anyone who enjoys the outdoors, Autumn or needs to relax and de-stress.

While listening to Pandora Radio one evening, I heard the most enticing music. Unlike any other, it was calming, beautiful and had the most delicate sounds of nature in the background. I checked and the name of the song was called Autumn Splendor by Dan Gibson. I knew right then I had to buy the whole album. If one song was so wonderful, I couldn't wait to hear the others. Upon downloading the full album from Amazon, I wasn't disappointed. Each song very different from the other, but all having the same great qualities, I had found a new favorite CD. Since buying this, I have purchased a few more albums by Dan Gibson and have fallen in love with all of them. The music in them is so real, and not forced or artificial sounding.

So many albums have cheesy repetitive nature sounds that after a short while seem harsh to listen to rather than relaxing. Not only is the instrumental music superb, but nature sounds actually sound like nature! Living in northern Minnesota, surrounded by nature, I know what it should sound like. Dan Gibson's albums got it spot on.

If you like this album, I would also highly recommend Gentle World: Santorini Splendor also by Gibson. Just as beautiful with a whole different kind of sound to it.

I bought this for our airplane trip to italy to calm me down on the plane, and block out kids, I love the sound of the cello so this seamed fitting. It did a great job and put me to sleep, we now have it for listening to when we have friends over as background music, and for dinners.
