Forest Song: Little Mother
I didn't know Vila SpiderHawk could supercede her own excellence in writing, but she's done it! I loved Forest Song: Finding Home. I'm ecstatic over Forest Song: Little Mother! In Little Mother, Judy, who became a woman in Finding Home, gets her own house in the Forest, and is surrounded by wonderful, magical friends. The ominous clouds of war that rolled through in Finding Home have opened and pour in Little Mother. Judy and her friends work themselves night and day to help refugees from the terrible times of World War II. Reading Forest Song: Little Mother, you will seethe, weep, laugh, and ultimately be so glad you went there. I urge you to pick up this wonderful book and read it from cover to cover today!

Forest Song: Little Mother is magnificent. I have come to know and love Judy and her Forest family and look forward to the next installment in the series.
In this book we watch Judy grow into a young woman and experience life as the Mother of the Forest. There are many emotions in this story that will take you from laughing to crying to hoping. I hope all women read the Forest Song book series. I hope that Vila SpiderHawk continues her work as a successful writer. Her writing style is so inviting that once you start reading her work, you will always look forward to the next.

Forest Song Little Mother,

This review is from: Forest Song: Little Mother (Paperback)
The continuation of Judy's adventures in the woods with the addition of many characters hiding many Jews from Hitlers soldiers and helping them to find safe passage to safety. Judy comes of age and learns much more about her own way of life and the life outside the forest. She proves herself true to her own values and belief and finds she is courageous and strong! I loved this one even more then the first.

Judy's back! Within the pages of Vila SpiderHawk's book,"Forest Song: Little Mother" we continue to follow Judy as she learns and comes into her true self. As with,"Forest Song: Finding Home" I could connect to Judy as she grows, learns, and becomes her magic. I felt the disgust and horror of the war and the wonder of first love. In the world today the understanding of not only our connection to everythihg but the magic given to each of us is written and recorded within the pages of this wonderful book. Thank you once again Vila.

Another Magickal Book!,
By Ruby Moon (Buckingham, VA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Forest Song: Little Mother (Paperback)
After reading Vila Spidershawks, Hidden Passages, Tales of the Crone, and Forrest Song, Finding home, I could not wait for her new book to come out. Never before had I ever read such amazing stories, so perfectly written with such a flare, that I couldn't put them down, even to go to sleep. I was so happy to see a sequel to Forrest Song, Finding Home, it was one of those books that drew you in so when it ended, you just wished it would go on and on! I was so pleased with the sequel, Little Mother was everything I anticipated, and well worth waiting for. The author has a flare and style of writing that will draw you right into the book with the characters. Once you read one of her books, you will be hooked by the magick her writing brings to life.
If you have already read Forrest Song, Finding home, I can promise you, you will not be disappointed!!!! Far from it, you will jump into the pages, and become a part of "Little Mother" experiencing the twist and turns and surprises that lay ahead for our Judy on her amazing spiritual journey! Through laughter and tears this book touched my heart as all her books before! You did it again Vila, your fan awaiting your next novel!

Forest Song- Little Mother,
By
This review is from: Forest Song: Little Mother (Paperback)
Forest Song, Little Mother is about a journey. Through the young protagonist, Judy, we all take the ultimate journey-- the journey through life. It is at once a difficult and easy journey, a painful and restorative journey-- a journey of self-discovery.
Young Judy has left home at a very tender age to live in the woods, because she feels the woods calling to her. In following her path she acquires a new family to replace her old, undemonstrative, rather cold family. Through the friends she makes-- human, non-human, and magical, Judy learns that a family does not always mean those to whom one has a biological connection. Through Judy's adventures in the forest, her increasing maturity and self-discovery, and her reverence for the natural beauty surrounding her, the reader cannot help but be drawn into her world. This book will provide a joyful, engrossing and memorable experience for the reader.

It is so hard to put down this book. From the moment you open it with Little Judy in a world that she feels she does not belong in, to the world that she finds herself and her passion. Then to go back to the home she started at and knowing for sure it was not for her. She grows up to be a fine young woman as her crone teacher puts her under her wing and teaches her the ways of the wise. I surely would recommend this book to those of you that hear the call of the woods in their hearts.
