Carter "Blue" McCoy is a member of an elite group of Navy SEALs. He travels home to Hatboro Creek to attend the wedding of his stepbrother to his childhood sweetheart. One of the first people he sees is Lucy Tait, police rookie and a girl he knew in high school. Lucy has had a crush on Blue for more than 10 years. Seeing him again jolts her. He is instantly attracted to her. They decide to engage in a brief affair. Brief becasue Blue will leave Hatboro Creek after the wedding; SEALs never stay in one place. But things get complicated when Blue's stepbrother turns up dead and Blue is the main suspect in his murder.

I just read my synopsis and realized that I cannot accurately convey how good this book is. Blue is tough, quiet, strong, and stern. He's also kind and honorable and darn sexy. I remembered him as an intriguing character from the 1st book in this series, PRINCE JOE. He makes an absolutely wonderful hero in FOREVER BLUE. Lucy is tough, direct, courageous, and (gasp!) not a virgin. (Regular romance readers will know what I mean by that last one.) I really, really liked Lucy. Blue and Lucy together are very hot, sweet, and sometimes even funny.

I usually dislike suspense or mystery in romances, but Brockmann knows how to incorporate these elements without taking away from the romance. I liked FOREVER BLUE even better than PRINCE JOE, which I would grade an A. I guess that means FOREVER BLUE is an A+.

Lucy Tait fantisized about Carter "Blue" McCoy, her hero, since her freshman year in high school. Blue, four years older than Lucy, left town to follow his dreams to become a Navy SEAL. Now Blue is back in town for his stepbrothers wedding to, none other, than Blue's high school sweetheart who broke Blue's heart when he realized she only used him to get close to his step brother.

Upon seeing Lucy again, Blue realizes there is more to his former hero worshiper than meets the eye. Lucy has grown up into a beautiful and independent woman and it's obvious she still has feelings for him. Blue is captivated at first sight. The sexual tension between the two characters couldn't be cut with a knife. Steamy doesn't even touch it. They are so drawn to each other--Blue wants to trust Lucy but his life has been full of disappointments and he has never been able to trust anyone except his fellow SEALS and he hasn't trusted anyone with his heart since high school.

Before the story is over you have murder, mystery, romance, passion, deceit and finally happiness all rolled up into a perfect romance/suspense novel.

This book was a really great read. I read Prince Joe about a month ago and thought it couldn't get much better, but this was as good or maybe a little better. I understand that there are quite a few in Brockman's TDD series. If they keep getting better as we go along--we may combust before we finish. I am new to Brockman, but so far she has captivated me with characters that are so well written and you feel such a part of the story you hate for it to end--Oh! and the suspense aint' bad either. This is a must read if you like well written stories and down to earth characters that tear at your heart.

Suzanne Brockmann's sophomore re-issue with Mira after the hugely successful Prince Joe is foremost a crackling romance and a passionate salute to the Navy SEALs of America at its core like its predecessor. However this time round in Forever Blue, Ms. Brockmann notches up this saccharine romance with elements of small-town murder and mayhem when the hero, Blue McCoy is suspected of killing his stepbrother Gerry after his wedding reception. It reveals later to be a decoy to frame McCoy given his former attachments to Gerry's soon-to-be-wife Jenny Lee. Lucy Tait, who harbours a teenage crush on the SEAL is implicated when she is assigned to investigate. She takes him in when the community at Hatboro Creek repudiates him and accuses him of cold-blooded murder. Sexual tension arises with their closed proximity and as Blue comes to terms with his love for his ardent tenacious worshipper. Yet Lucy is reluctant to believe that this fairy-tale romance could ever come to fruition with the more beautiful Jenny Lee as a rival.

This wildly schmaltzy tale, coupled with a to-die-for brooding hero and a feisty rookie, is a top-notch dazzling romance. What with the frenetic pacing of action and twists to compliment the soaring romance, this book under Brockmann's glorious pen vows to enthrall and leave you swooning with passion.

I waited eagerly for the second book in the tall dark and dangrous series, after Prince Joe , and I was not dissapointed. It countinues the story of Seal Team Alpha Squad, another one of its elite members,Blue McCoy. It was everything I wanted in the hero the strong dangerous silent type and the heroine gutsy intelligent and she knows what she wants she is not afraid to care and love. Blue McCoy and Lucy Tait have unfinished business between them. One has a crush the other remembers how tough the other was .The same crush is now in the guise of friends , loyalty and trust is there when the chips are down and Blue is accused of murder and Lucy is there believing in his innocence even though when all the evidence points towards Blue .From there on every thing heats up between them and the chase to catch the real killer. For me this was a enjoyable book, Like I said I eagerly waited for the second book and was not dissapointed.and I am waiting for the next book by Suzanne Brockmann in the tall dark and dangerous series.

This book is #2 in Brockmann's first SEAL Team series, and it is an absolute joy to read. This re-issue of "Forever Blue" proves that Brockmann's tales of military-men-in-love are timeless stories, that can still entertain. Blue McCoy is a SEAL returning to small-town America, to bravely face an uncomfortable situation: his step-brother is about to marry his high-school sweatheart. Trained to tackle trouble with a team, he's forced to face a personal crisis without his SEAL teammates when he becomes the prime suspect in his step-brother's murder. Blue finds a new partner in a now-grown-former-tomboy named Lucy, a faithful childhood acquaintance... and Lucy finds out that the "hero" she had a crush on long ago is really just a "man" worthy of her heart's love. All-in-all, Forever Blue is a simple love story with a bit of adventure and mystery thrown in.

For those unfamiliar with Brockmann's SEAL books, she has written two separate series. "Forever Blue" is book #2 of her first SEAL Team series, which is not as complicated as her new SEAL Team "Troubleshooters" series. The first series (beginning with #1 "Prince Joe" reprinted last year and continuing with the re-release of #3 "Frisco Kid") is made up of 11 shorter novels, each focusing on one member of the team and his path to true love. I'm personally thrilled to see these books making a reappearance on book-store shelves! The newer series (beginning with #1 "Unsung Hero") contains 5 books to date --all still in print-- that are longer more in-depth novels. Unique to this new series is that each book contains a main plot involving the hero (a member of the SEAL Team) and his lady love, but each book also has another love story expertly interwoven within the pages that flashes you back to WWII. An additional bonus is the on-going personal adventures of two supporting characters...the SEAL from Texas, Roger "Sam" Starrett, whose tumultuous love interest in FBI sharpshooter Alyssa Locke makes for a roller-coaster story line providing plenty of cliff-hangers that doesn't climax until book #6, Gone Too Far, which just came out in hardcover in 2003!

For light reading, I recommend the first series, although admittedly, getting through the whole series is made tougher with some of the 11 books being out of print.
For in-depth, more for your money, adventurous love stories, try the new series. Either way, I highly recommend reading both in sequence.

Carter "Blue" McCoy comes back to his hometown to attend the wedding of his high school sweetheart to his own stepbrother. Lucy Tait has had a crush on Blue since she was a freshman in high school and he saved her from a bunch of jerks who were beating her because she'd made the boys' team.

Now, police officer Lucy finds that her attraction to Blue has not diminished and he is equally attracted to her, but when his stepbrother is murdered and all the clues point to Blue, can Lucy keep her duty and her love for Blue separate enough to help clear his name?

I really liked this book, Blue is such a nice guy and he keeps trying to convince Lucy that he no longer wants his old girlfriend, Jenny Lee, although Lucy can't believe he'd pass up a beauty queen like Jenny to be with her. Lucy's schoolgirl crush and later devotion to the hero-like Blue begins to diminish as she accepts the faults the real Blue has, and her love deepens as well.

After Prince Joe, this is a great installment in the TDD books, I highly recommend it.

I thought this book was great. It is the second in her navy seal series, and in my opinion one of the best. Blue and Lucy are great chracters and you have to keep reading to find out what happens to them. At first I didn't want this book and only got it because it was part of the series, but after reading it I found that it was great, and I have since reread it many times. I highly recommend this book, and also any other in this series.

Everyone in sleepy Hatboro Creek, SC is anticipating the wedding of Gerry McCoy and Jenny Lee Beaumont. They're all eagerly awaiting the return of Gerry's stepbrother US Navy SEAL Carter "Blue" McCoy. Everyone expects fireworks since Blue and Jenny Lee had been high school sweethearts until Jenny dumped Blue for Gerry.

Lucy Tait is also anticipating Blue's return but for reasons of her own. She had a serious crush on Blue in high school and she's still infatuated after all these years. He's her hero and because of him, she's learned all she can about Navy SEALs. When he returns to town, she discovers that her feelings for him have resurfaced full force. The teenaged loner has become a handsome, powerful, confident, but still largely solitary man.

But Lucy is not the scrawny, Yankee kid that Blue remembers rescuing from more than one scrape in high school. She's now a lovely, self-possessed woman - and a cop! When Blue invites Lucy to the rehearsal dinner after-party she is stunned and thrilled. Blue McCoy asked her out on a date!!

Unfortunately the evening turns into a fiasco when Gerry and Blue wind up in a fight. Blue leaves the party planning to leave on the first bus out of town. So much for Lucy's big date with Blue McCoy. But when Gerry turns up dead and Blue is the prime suspect, Lucy finds herself in charge of the investigation - her, a rookie cop! And Blue has no one to turn to to prove his innocence except Lucy since the whole town seems to already believe he's guilty. Was he set up (and why?) or was Blue really jealous of Gerry and still in love Jenny Lee? Can Lucy be fair and impartial when it comes to a man she's adored for years or will she be seduced by his charm and her long suppressed feelings?

Oh, it's another yummy Brockmann TDD read and I enjoyed it immensely! Blue is the strong, silent sexy type and Lucy was a great heroine who knew her own heart and had the strength of her own convictions. She's probably one of Brockmann's more developed, fully dimensional heroines. My only complaint was with her obsession with Blue and his feelings for Jenny Lee - get over it! And, maybe a first for the author, I found myself wanting to know more about the hero. Usually it is the heroines that Brockmann short-changes, but here I wanted to know Blue better and felt I never got the full picture. But still a highly recommended!

The story wasn't exactly boring but I don't like heros who are constantly humiliated. For example, Blue's denied service in a small town restaurant in front of all the patrons, all of whom believe he's a killer. He's then denied hospitality at the local motel, for the same reason. THEN, he's surrounded by a handful of thugs ready to beat the stuffing out of him. This prejudice stems from old memories of Blue's childhood. His stepfather never wanted him, even though Blue loved him, therefore something MUST have been wrong with Blue. No one seems the least impressed by Blue's successful and heroic career as a respected Navy SEAL. In my experience, this kind of show of attitude simply would not happen.

SEAL executive officer Carter "Blue" McCoy is on leave to attend the wedding of his step brother Gerry in Hatboro, South Carolina. The town is anticipating his arrival because Gerry is marrying Blue's former girlfriend, Jenny Lee. But no one is as excited about his arrival as Lucy Tait. A rookie officer with the Hatboro PD, Lucy remembers Blue fondly as the guy who rescued her from bullies back when they were teens.

While trying to break up a fight, it is Blue who subdues the baddies, again rescuing Lucy. Suddenly she is on the receiving end of his smoldering eyes, and when he asks her to attend the engagement party as his date, Lucy is pretty excited and has big plans to seduce him. But those plans never materialize - at the engagement party; an apparently drunken Gerry picks a fight with Blue, who leaves the party with intentions of leaving Hatboro first thing in the morning. When Gerry suddenly turns up dead, Blue is the prime suspect. With the police convinced of his guilt, the town against him and nowhere to turn, Lucy takes Blue in and lets him stay in her spare room, which causes plenty of gossip in the small town. Lucy is the only one who believes that Blue was set up - now she just has to prove it without losing her heart.

No one creates sexy alpha heroes like Brockmann. The humor, tenderness, and exciting plot are early indications of her talent which comes out in later novels like "Hot Target" and the excellent "Over the Edge."
