3.0 out of 5 stars "Forever" might need a few more months, April 14, 2004

When he released his first album entitled "No Way Out" in 1998, Sean "Puffy" Combs was designated as a new talent in the rap industry. This critically acclaimed album was all that it was cracked up to be. With hit tracks such as "It's all about the Benjamins" and "Can't Nobody Hold me Down," Puffy went on to sale more than 10 million copies worldwide, paving the ground for his way to stardom. He is known for sampling many old hit songs and transforming them into a new style of music. And it made him big. As CEO/Chairman of Bad Boy Entertainment, Puffy took many artists in and transformed them into superstars such as: Notorious B.I.G. (aka Biggie Smalls) and Mase. But with the sudden death of close friend Biggie and the announcement of rapper Mase leaving the rap business, Puffy had to step it up.

This album was not fresh as the first, and not nearly as close as to what he could have accomplished.
Most of the tracks in this album are monotonous, and it seems as though he is radiating a lethargic feeling to his listeners. There are tracks such as "Satisfy You (Feat. R. Kelly)" that are smooth sounding and lyrically synchronizing, but many of his tracks are reminiscent of the first. He does have, however, a strong cast of featured guest artists such as Jay-Z, Busta Rhymes, Redman, and Bizzy Bone. If you really liked the first album, don't have your hopes set so high on this album.

I'll say it again, "What the hell was I thinking when i bought this?"...His debut album, "No Way Out" comes out and im hooked on the Bad Boy Famiily, but then he comes out with this? Come on, Diddy, you can do alot better than this...hey Bad Boy 4 Life all the way, but this CD will take you to an early grave.

1.0 out of 5 stars Nothing at all..., November 2, 1999

I've listened to many Albums in my life, and only a few times (this was one) I really regret it! Puff Daddy takes good old songs, and makes bad old songs of them. If you want HipHop, take Eminem or Dre....this Album is nothing at all!

5.0 out of 5 stars Forget Diamonds, P. Diddy is FOREVER!!, May 17, 2004

This CD is BLAZING!! Straight up, it's lyrical and musical FIRE!! HOT!! P. Diddy takes Hip Hop to another level on this album. It's more introspective and personal than No Way Out, as Diddy admits his sins and channels his rhymes in a direction of social awareness, something unprecedented in the Rap game. He even continues to make hot songs as well. "Satisfy You" is the biggest hit, using a clever Club Noveau sample ("I Got 5 On It" by 1 Hit Wonders The Luniz is WACK compared to this!!) to illustrate his love for that special someone. It's not quite the frenetic party of No Way Out, but a SLEPT-ON CLASSIC nonetheless.
BUMP LIST (90% of the album is BUMPABLE!!):
Satisfy You
I'll Do This For You
Reverse
Best Friend
Real Niggas
Journey Through The Life
Do You Like It...Do You Want It
P.E. 2000

4.0 out of 5 stars Still loving it after 2nd buy!, June 14, 2010

Production is great! We forget how music is supposed to be. Not taking anything away from these guys nowadays who are getting their money putting out garbage (see Gucci Mane & O.J. Da Juiceman) but this is when music was still good! Diddy or P. Diddy, or Puffy or Puff Daddy.... perhaps Diddy Dirty Money has never been lyrical, but he put it best "I'm not a rapper, I'm an entertainer". And this album was entertaining. With appearances from Shyne, Jay-Z and the likes, it was a solid effort back when music was about something. That's why I bought it again after I lost it a few years ago.
