It Was So Simple!,
By Richard Sasso (Chicago, IL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Forever Craps (Paperback)
Sometimes when you have been playing a certain casino game for many years, you might tend to overlook the obvious. That was me with craps. I played a conservative game although on occasion, and after much drink, I sometimes made hardways bets. But I overlooked the thing that often set me to muttering under my breath. Bad shooters! I'd get up on my numbers only to have the shooter seven out! Now along comes Scoblete's book and what does he focus on? Shooters! The obvious! If craps can be beaten it can only be beaten by select shooters. Those are the ones you want to bet on. Those of us who bet every shooter are ultimately doomed to failure. It was so obvious but I never realized it. I would complain about a rotten table as shooter after shooter sevened out after the come out roll. But I never did anything about it. I just played my regular losing game. With FOREVER CRAPS: THE FIVE-STEP ADVANTAGE PLAY METHOD those days are over. Scoblete's counsel is wise and I have now incorporated every suggestion of his into my craps repertory, and you know what? I am starting to see a mahority of winning sessions. I want to say this because I think it is important. I am not a dumb gambler. I know the percentages and odds of the various bets at craps and many other games. What Scoblete has shown me is that these can change because of a physical alteration in the dimensions of the game. I think this book is a treasure!

Excellent, Another Scoblete Masterpiece,
By Carl Denham (New Jersey) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Forever Craps (Paperback)
Scoblete goes into a plan for playing craps that takes full advantage of possible rhythmic rollers, which are those individuals who might be able to influence the dice somewhat. It also explains how to practice your own dice sets and throws to minimiize the bouncing and careening of the dice. This will allow you to turn a slightly negative game into a positive game. His section on getting the most from comps can almost guarantee what Scoblete calls a 'monetary edge.' He has an extensive section on the 5 count, which I have been using for many years with great success. What some math guys might find interesting are the insights given by math professor Don Caitlin who examines various ideas that Scoblete brings up such as how much of an influence does one really have to exert on the dice to change the game into a player favorable one. Scoblete also allows his critics to speak and some of them are hilarious! These sections are just plain fun to read. The book also contains some wonderful stories. One is Scoblete's great roll at Binions in 1999, which really captures what its like to have one of those "monster rolls", and the other is an in depth biography of the Captain. Once you read this, you'll understand why Scoblete thinks so highly of the man. Scoblete once again demonstrates in this book why so many of us thoroughly enjoy his writing. He can mix strategies and anecdotes in a way that no one else can. The book is a pleasure to read but it is also an important one for craps players looking to get an edge!

The Best Craps Book Ever!,
By Jonathan Cohen (Brooklyn, New York) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Forever Craps (Paperback)
Frank Scoblete has written a powerful book. His five step advantage play method hones in on the only real way to beat craps and that is to find and exploit shooters who are slightly altering the math of the game. He goesinto detail about how to find such shooters. if you are looking for a quick fix, this is not the craps book for you. This book will appeal to intelligent craps players who have tried all the other systems and found them wanting. The book is also a very enjoyable one to read as Scoblete sprinkles personal stories and anecdotes to highlight his ideas. This is a remarkable book but, as I said, it is not for everyone, just those of us who are tired of the same old losing baloney we have been getting for years from other gambling authors. if you are a serious craps player, I think you should make Scoblete's acquaintence.

Made me a believer...,
By Mark Baer (Phoenix, AZ United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Forever Craps (Paperback)
I've been to Vegas about a dozen times and played craps about 1/2 that much. I've NEVER won at craps until reading this book. Some people may say that the 5 count is boring or presetting the dice is a waste of time. After reading this book, the FIRST night there I had a roll for 45 MINUTES!!!. No lying, my wife witnessed it. My wife and I both made money that trip and I am going back in a few weeks. It may have been beginners luck, but in 3 sessions that trip, I only had about 100.00 to start with and I played all three sessions for about 3-4 hours each....and still came out on top. I had ups and downs, but mainly because I strayed a few times from the 5 count to see what would happen. I'm sticking with this strategy until I see otherwise! Thanks Mr. Scoblete! You and the Captains gang ROCK!

Great Read,
By A Customer
This review is from: Forever Craps (Paperback)
I purchased this book and Frank's previous two books, Forever Craps and Beat the Craps out of the Casinos. All three were well written and entertaining to read. I don't bet much money when playing craps and have found these books have given me a way to stay at the tables for a long time with little buy-in. I played for over five hours in Vegas on a two hundred dollar buy-in. I'm still waiting for a "golden shooter" but you can't win unless you're at the table with an available bankroll when it happens. I've seen so many people lose and leave after only 5 or 10 minutes at the tables. This is the real strength of Frank's techniques, his methods give you staying power so you will be at the table with your bankroll intact when a good roll comes along. All of his books discuss the probabilities involved with all of the bets on the layout. Not much time is spent with any bet where the house edge or "vig" is more than a few percent. He doesn't recommend making such bets and doesn't dwell on them. He only discusses strategies built on the bets with the lowest casino advantage. At the Orleans in Vegas when another player kept commenting on my play a dealer asked me not to explain it because, "the doey/don't...smart play, all I need is everyone playing that way". I'm new to craps and casino betting and have found these books to be the best of any I've read. All three are highly recommended and I'll be looking for any other of Frank's books.

Terrific Book for Craps Players,
By Fred Kowalski (Brooklyn, New York) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Forever Craps (Paperback)
I am a big fan of Frank Scoblete's writing. I have read his previous books on craps. The Captain's Craps Revolution and Beat the Craps Out of the Casinos. But Forever Craps is by far his best. The reason for that is because it really gives the player a very powerful way of playing the game that actually does offset the mathematical negativity of the game. Scoblete's ideas about rhythmic rollers, golden shooters and the five count, all working together to get the edge, actually work. I have now been playing this five step method for a couple of months and I am winning consistently. The rest of the book that is not about the five step method is so much fun to read that I have already reread it many times. If you love craps, Scoblete's chapters on his big roll and the letters from other readers will give you a thrill and a laugh. He is a great writer and this is his finest craps book yet.

This Book Has the Goods,
By A Customer
This review is from: Forever Craps (Paperback)
Forever Craps is a abook that delivers what it promises. Scoblete carefully explores a "five-step" method that can give the player the edge over the game of craps. Hi method includes dice control, the 5 count, selecting golden shooters, making the best bets, and milking the comping system to come out with an advantage over the casinos. There is a detailed and insightful biography chapter about the Captain of craps that I found fascinating. There is even a discussion of darkside betting for those players who don't want to play the right side of the game. Craps players should get this book and read it a few times. There is a wealth of information you can use from it.

The Intelligent Craps Player's Bible,
By Robert Collin (LA CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Forever Craps (Paperback)
I have been using the Five-Step Advantage-Play Method of Frank Scoblete's for four months in the casinos. I go twice a week and I have found that while the method does take some discipline, the money you make is a welcome relief from all the losses I suffered over the years playing craps the traditional ways.Scoblete's book goes into five major factors that can make you a winner over the casinos: the five count, golden shooters, rhythmic rolling, good bets and comps. If you follow Scoblete's advice you will only be betting on shooters that have the best chance to make you money. I especially liked Scoblete's detailed analysis of the five count which is reaaly the most original concept ever put forward in craps thinking. His golden shooter idea is also a must-read concept. If you utilize Scoblete's methods I think you will find that, like me, you are beginning to show a profit from your craps play. Scoblete's book is not a dry, statistical book either. He has a complete biography of the captain of craps, the man who taught him his ideas. The Captain is a legend and the bio is just great to read. I also thoroughly enjoyed reading about Scoblete's "epic roll" at Binions Horseshoe. I felt I was there that's how well-written it was there. I think if you are a serious craps player and you are looking for the book that could become your bible of craps, this will be the one. It is mine!

The Best Possible Strategy!,
By Louis Quintana (Arizona) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Forever Craps (Paperback)
I have been playing craps for a couple of decades now and I have a firm grasp of the math. I usually make a pass line bet with two come bets and I always take full odds. However, I have been a long time loser as even the best bets at craps have a negative expectation. Despite the fact that I have been playing this game for years I overlooked the main ingredient in trying to beat it, the shooters themselves. I had noted unconsciously that over the years the shooters who had the best rolls were the ones who took some care with their sets and deliveries. But I never acted on this info because I wasn't focused on them as much as I was on my betting. Now along comes Mr. Frank Scoblete and he does what I should have done long ago. He has made a study of shooters and the idea of "rhythmic rolling" and he has developed his attack on craps based on a five step criteria. Having now played his way for approximately half a year, I can say: Thank you, Mr. Frank Scoblete! You have written the book that we craps players have been waiting for for decades. Mr. Scoblete has developed criteria for shooters that you bet on, Golden Shooters, criteria for developing your own rhythmic rolls, betting methods to exploit both Golden Shooters and your own rolls, and how to maximize the casino omp systems. I want to shout this to the hilltops that craps players finally have a really good system to attack this game!

This Does Seem to Work,
By Harry Matthews (Austin) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Forever Craps (Paperback)
I first ran several simulations using a craps program that I have. This was used to test the idea of the 5 count with random rolls. I found that using a pass/two come strategy after the 5 count reduced the number of players I bet on by more than fifty percent. I also found that I had won money at the end of over a million decisions. Then I took Mr. Scoblete's full five step method to Vegas and Reno for a week ofacual play. I logged in eight hours a day of play. I would say that i bet on approximately ten percent of the shooters I witnessed. I won a considerable amount of money. As far as I can see, Mr. Scoblete has invented a system of craps play that is without equal. The 5 count and the golden shooter idea work. I am not saying that in actual play it is perfect. You don't win on every shooter but it does work! The book is also a very entertaining book to read. Craps players should buy it right away. Study Scoblete's ideas and discover for themselves what a great way this is to win money.
