Morning Star knew it was her duty as an Oglala princess to join with a warrior of her tribe. After all, she was the granddaughter of the revered Gray Eagle, and her father was the great Chief Sun Cloud. Morning Star knew it was her duty as an Oglala princess to join with a warrior of her tribe. After all, she was the granddaughter of the revered Gray Eagle, and her father was the great Chief Sun Cloud. But the moment she gazed into the sky-blue eyes of Joseph Lawrence, she realized he was fated to be in her life-circle. For he was the man of legend, the white man who would lead her tribe to peace. He was also the lover who would stir her soul with forbidden desires. Together they would know a great destiny ... and an everlasting love!

5.0 out of 5 stars Forever is a keeper, December 12, 2011
This is one of the best series I've read. Taylor does her research. I learned and I enjoyed each book, generation to generation, new characters, reappearance of old ones. This series should be made into a movie or mini-series. Eager to read #9 to see what happens next, even though it's called Savage Conquest, not an "ecstasy" title. Oh, and I almost downloaded the wrong book, as there are two with that title. I've already read Taylor's other 4-book Lakota Skies Series, and I wasn't disappointed with this Lakota series. Makes me wonder if Taylor is Native American, as she really knows all about them: history, culture, daily life, ceremonies, language and more (even though she used more in the Lakota Skies Series). I always knew what the Indians were saying by how she worded her sentences. Great job! Will have to search for her other Native American novels.
