This one is a keeper to read again!,

This book follows Maggie Shayne's Fairytale which I also loved, but not as much as this one!
Tristan was portrayed as the bad guy in the earlier book and to see exactly what kind of a man he really is in Forever Enchanted is captivating. He grabs me immediately and if Bridin didn't have him, I wanted to! They are perfectly matched, however, but come from two very different worlds. Finding an even ground between the tow is hard and I was carried through the story not knowing how they would ever get through it! Fabulous fabulous read from a great author!

Loved it!!!,

I'll start by saying that I HATE romances!! But, being forced to read one for a class I was taking I stumbled upon this book and LOVED it!! It has all the passion and intensity that romance readers love. But this book also satisfies those of us totally fascinated and absorbed by the world of fantasy. Despite what others have said here, I found both characters fully developed and believeable. I was also interested to see them battle between preconceptions, misunderstandings and their true love. A totally enjoyable book!

A true love story...,

FOREVER ENCHANTED is absolutely fantastical. Characters and dialogue sing, and the tenuous, fiery bond that Tristan and Bridin share is unbreakable, regardless of their less than stellar relationship in the past.Maggie Shayne grabs readers' attention from the first page to last in this timeless tale of enemies destined to be lovers. I now have to hunt down the prequel, FAIRYTALE. If you like fantasy romance, I highly recommend this as a book you won't be able to put down!

beautiful story with some inconsistencies,
This review is from: Forever Enchanted (Paperback)
I downloaded this book immediately after reading the first one, Fairytale. I thought the author was well rounded in her writing and developed very strong story lines. However, while I feel that this story in itself was a great read, I feel that it doesn't really coincide with the story line that was established in the first book. In the first book, the twins were set up as orphans, abandoned by their father at birth. If that was the case then how could the main character remember playing as a child with her sister and mother in Rush? If you're able to overlook some of the inconsistencies that are not well explained then you are in for a great romance. The love/hate relationship between Brigit and Tristan is well written. Less sappier than the first in their romance.I do feel that by about the 450th page, the author started to rush the book along. It does seem that there is more rushed action as she tries to close off these characters story. Its not so much so that I feel that it takes from the story but enough for me to feel just a little lost as the story wraps up.

*SPOILER ALERT*I read the first in this series and liked it but this one just had me shaking my head at how stupid this woman who suppose to be a ruler is. She does not trust her instincts. She is almost killed at least twice and saved by Tristen and when she is safe she try's to escape when she couldn't protect herself by herself so far. It seemed like if she is suppose to make important desitions for an entire kingdom she should be smarter and have some common sence. Turning herself over to someone who already tricked and lied to her once and tried to kill his own brother. Then seeing and hearing how evil he is and still thinking that he will keep his word or do anything helpful, sorry but,STUPID. Rulers it seems should come with some at least mildly intelligent plans. I really liked the first book in this series and Birdin seemed smart and resorceful. She just became stupid and spoiled in this one.

I dislike having to be blunt in my opinion of this book. Considering that the writer put a lot of effort, love and dedication into this project. However I found the fact that the mother turns out to be alive and the way it ends really dissappointing. It seemed more fitting that the mother was dead. Since now she is alive a lot is not accounted for and she seems somewhat disconnected. I'd rather her character have been an aunt that was locked away and that way I would'nt have expected more. I would have expected to read more about them catching up and her having a relationship with Brigit as well as her grandchild. I was also disliked how as a reader I could'nt experience the little transitions Tristan and Bridin go through. Such as getting married, having children, being a family with Brigit and Maire. But maybe that is expecting too much and a personal problem of mines. I did like the book I guess the last couple of chapters left a void. To make up for it I would like to have a follow up book.

Great Sequel,

This is a great sequel to fairytale. Loved the writing, loved the characters, loved the story. Fairytale is free and this one is only .99 cents....well worth the money. Buy it and read it, you won't regret it.

I actually liked this book more than I did the first one, I would recommend it to anyone looking to read Maggie Shayne, or just a good romance novel.

I am disappointed by the bad review I read. Maggie Shayne's book was a book I had a hard time putting down. Although I enjoyed "Fairytale" better, I still enjoyed this book. Of course Ms. Shayne's vampire books and her new "Eternity" book is my very favorite!
