From the Author

"Ryder, I don't know how or why it's happening so fast, but my heart does feel like it belongs to you. When I saw you tonight, I felt it. The connection is there and I see it now, but what if it isn't real?" I pulled away from him to walk closer to the crystal blue water of the lake.
"Why wouldn't it be? It feels real to me," he said while making his way toward me.  He was getting closer and all I wanted to do was run into his arms and feel his body surround mine. That was what my body was telling me, but how would I find out if that was what my heart truly felt?
Shrugging, I replied, "I just think we might feel this way because of the prophecy, and if so, then what we have isn't real." Wrapping me in his arms again, he tilted my chin up so I had to look into his eyes. He was worried and I could see the tension around the lines of his mouth.
Shaking his head, he let out an exasperated breath.
"Why are you trying to fight this, Calista? Whatever we feel is between me and you. No prophecy or any amount of magic is going to change the way I feel in my heart." Cupping my face in his hands, he brought his face closer to mine so our foreheads lightly touched.
Breathing lightly against my cheek, he whispered softly, "My heart tells me this is real, and if we can't believe in our own hearts, then what can we believe in?"

About the Author

I am an avid reader that loves my collection of books. Writing has always been a passion of mine and now I am glad that I get to share my passion with the world. I live in North Carolina and I absolutely love being a southern girl. I spent several years in college starting out with a major in Psychology and then switching to dental. I worked in the dental field for eight years and then decided to stay home with my two beautiful girls. I spent the beginning of my reading years reading suspense thrillers, but now I can't get away from the paranormal/fantasy books. I knew ever since then that if I wrote anything it would be in a paranormal aspect. Now that I have started on my passion and began writing, you will not see me go anywhere without a notebook and pen, and my energy builder...chocolate. You can find me at facebook/LP Dover, and on my blog

I really wish I could give this book more stars because I enjoyed the story line and the characters overall. However, I really could not appreciate the authors writing style. Her writing is in first person and flips back and forth between several characters, which can make keeping up with all the different perspectives very confusing. Most of the time you will only see the first person character's name as the chapter title so you know whose point of view you are now reading from but no where else in the text.

Her descriptions do not flow and her transitions are choppy from one idea to the next. For example instead of saying Calista stood stoically in the middle of the room watching as the warriors nervously readied for battle. The author will write I stood in the middle of the room waiting for my father to make his announcements. I looked at my mom who wore a blue dress, her hair was unbound and she looked pretty to me. When she writes this way describing an object or a person sounds listed instead of melding the description in for a seamless fit. I never knew that I preferred a third person account until now. For most of the book I found myself daydreaming about how it could have been better worded.

Since I did enjoy the story and plot, I will carry forward to read book 2 as it only costs .99cents to purchase.

I don't usually read fairy stories, and I will be honest, I didn't know what to expect from this one. The writing flowed smoothly and the description of the Fae world really took you to a different place. I was feeling a mixture of emotions as I read through it {in one sitting}.. I think it had everything; humour, love, betrayal, lust, good, evil, and everything in between. I will be looking for the next book in the series to be a wonderful trip through fantasy land just like this one is.

I enjoyed all the characters, and really cared about their paths. I love the imagination of the fairy world, and the development of the courts. I would recommend this book, and already have, to people who like a little new adult in their fantasy. This is a clever and thoroughly entertaining book!

This Author has created such a wonderful experience for us through her imagination. She has topped the charts, in my opinion, with this Fae novel. Her creativity with the Fae world is delightful. She is able to draw you in immediately and keeps you captivated to the very end. It is almost like she enchants you with her magical words. Her description of details was simply wonderful. I actually wish I could live in this world she created! It is simply beautiful and refreshing!
She also gives us incredible powerhouse characters!! I enjoy the fact that she has set her next book in motion, by bringing the Chosen Four to the table. Calista, who is the Summer Princess, is so strong minded and willing to fight like a Gladiator. But yet has a demeanor of a queen! She is giving, thoughtful, sincere and loving. Marrick is not only her guardian, but is her friend as well. Did I mention the fact that he has a little secret?
Now it is time for Calista to meet Ryder, "Prince of the Winter Court". Destiny has chosen these two for a greater purpose of the courts. Right away they are drawn to each other. You know, one of those "love or lust at first sight" things. I would liked to have seen the relationship between the two of them drawled out a little more but HEY when you have a Prince as welcoming as Ryder....what is a girl to do right? I mean the whole time I am reading the book, all I could think of was Ryd-HER (or me *snickers*) Anywho just thought I would throw that out there!!
Oh my I got so wrapped up in Ryder I forgot to add the Dark Sorcerer, Alasdair! Of course the Author has a nasty Villain, and NASTY he is indeed. He wants to ravish Calista and make her his Queen. But he also wants to take her powers. I cannot believe he........wait you must read this to find out!

Julie Kagawa step aside because L.P. Dover is here to give you competition. Her work is captivating and full of adventure. L.P. Dover is an amazingly talented writer. Forever Fae takes you on adventure like no other. I love the modern twist on fae's. The heat and passion between Calista and Ryder is INTENSE to say the least. There are different characters who each have their own personality and they are all unique in their own ways, you just can't help to love them all.

The Winter Court Prince is serious, protective and head over heals in lover with Calista.

Calista is the Summer Court Princess, one to bring change to the fae.

You have the best friend Xylia who likes to color her hair and is as quirky as all.

Merrick is hilarious always has some kind of smart ass comment but you're heart goes out to him, because he loves so deeply.

Meliantha, the sister who is always there, loves nature and has a kind heart.

To find out about these characters and more you must read Forever Fae, you will not be disappointed. I highly recommend this for those who love paranormal adult books.

I bought this book on amazon.
Forever Fae by L.P. Dover
Adult read!!!!!
This is the first book I have read by this author. Step aside Melissa Marr here comes L.P. Dover to give you some competition in the Land of all things FAE!! I love the author's writing style and how well the story flows. I can't wait to find out more about the FOUR and the other princess' stories!!!! I just love Calista, Merrick, and Ryder!!!!! The characters are amazing and the interaction between them is wonderful. Love Merrick and his sarcastic attitude. I love the intensity that is between Ryder and Calista!!! I could not put the book down for the life of me!!! I could just imagine myself in this world of fae and the modern twist on a classic tale. This is a great read and expecting more wonderful, amazing, and intriguing works from this author. I can't wait!!

This book is about Calista who is the eldest daughter in the Summer Court. She is coming into her power and with it controls air, water, fire, and earth. Her best friend Merrick from childhood is going to fight the other warriors for the right to be her guardian. During the festivities and celebration, Calista catches a glimpse of Prince Ryder and her whole world turns upside down. She is drawn to this Winter Prince, but why and how is she developing feelings the way she is? Does he feel the same pull? What of the dark evil vibe that she feels vibrating through the land? What does it mean? Find out in this awe inspiring tale of fae!!!! I give this a whooping 5 stars!!!!
