5.0 out of 5 stars A sweet "conclusion" for a beautiful story
I have to admit that I had my doubts when I bought this book... the last couple of books in this series were quite repetitive and more of the same. But I was beautifully surprised with Forever because it is really one of those books that you cannot put down even though you know how it is going to end. 3.0 out of 5 stars Not forever for me
I think I must have read a different book. What are all these glowing reviews. I never felt that the two main characters were that much in love. I also didn't think real people acted so perfect. Also people with brain injuries take years to heal. My husband just had one a year ago and we still have lots of problems. Everything was just a little too perfect and I felt...

5.0 out of 5 stars A sweet "conclusion" for a beautiful story, March 21, 2007
This review is from: Forever (Firstborn Series-Baxter 2, Book 5) (Paperback)
I have to admit that I had my doubts when I bought this book... the last couple of books in this series were quite repetitive and more of the same. But I was beautifully surprised with Forever because it is really one of those books that you cannot put down even though you know how it is going to end. The dialogues between Dayne and Katy are so sweet and romantic that you will always be wishing for more. And we will get more about them in the new series "Sunrise", which I cannot wait to read!
But, as in the other books in the Firstborn Series, Forever is not only about Dayne and Katy. Forever is also about Luke and his struggles with himself now that he has a brother. I particularly liked this part of the story because what happens with Luke can be applied to many situations and provided me with things to think about in my own life.
Again Kingsbury has created an inspirational story based on faith and love that is not only romantic, but also moving and motivating. It is definitely a must read!

I have read this book plus the other 4 in the series. They are all fabulous and I enjoyed them immensely and have donated them to my church library. I have read all of Karen Kingsbury's books and am looking forward to Sunrise when it is released.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fame, Forgiven, Found, Family and Forever......, June 27, 2007
I hope that as you read this book, "Forever", you have read the four books that precede it. I dearly LOVED this series. I couldn't put any of the books down for more than a moment. The characters became as real people to me as they did to the author. One thing I found interesting to my own value system is that most other "Christian fiction authors" I have read, are quite squeaky clean i.e. no profanity, no sex scenes, etc. With one phase of the story of this series taking place in Hollywood, the story did encompass the lifestyle of the stars of a movie as you read about in newspapers. It was handled delicately and yet it made the story more believable. As much as some may prefer to have none of this side of life exposed, it does exist. I believe an author who has the ability to include these incidents while maintaining the art of forgiveness of the characters, is doing a wonderful job of spreading understanding, forgiveness and showing the consequences of one's actions which we can all apply to our individual situations, when we choose. I highly recommend each of the books in this series. I loaned these books, one at a time, to a friend who came back every day or two for the next one. After completing each one, she would comment, "I wondered what my neighbors thought, as I sat on my porch, reading this book, with tears streaming down my face." Karen Kingsbury has that ability .... you laugh a while and cry a while..........

This book was the last in this series. It was incredible. I was fortunate to discover Karen Kingsbury at a time where I could read this series of books back to back and didn't have to wait for #5 to be released.
Now I find out that the Baker Family novels will be continued in another series of books. YEAH!
I love Karen Kingsbury. Her novels are full of God's word and truth. Her stories mirror real life situations. We can all relate to these family love stories as well as family tragedies. The Bakers are now a permanent part of my family. I love they way this one ended and can't wait to read more. 5 ***** for this book

a quick read because it's so very hard to put this book down. and you're not sure exactly where the story is going to go until it goes there. each character is very likeable building from the redemption series to the firstborn series. definitely kingsbury's best book yet. can't wait to read the next one!

You must read all five books of this series to truly appreciate the Baxter family saga. Karen Kingsbury is an excellent Christian writer and her books are inspiring. They deal with things that are experienced by everyone. "Forever" is a fitting climax to the Firstborn series.

4.0 out of 5 stars 4 stars, April 10, 2007

Dayne Matthews' star is on the rise. He is on the Hollywood A list, has found his birth family, is engaged to the love of his life, and most importantly, is saved and knows Christ. Then, in a scene that echoes Princess Diana's death, Dayne is in a car wreck that leaves him in a coma. His new found family and fiancee wait and pray, but the challenges ahead do not end when he wakes up, they only begin.

**** This story feels very real. While all the characters are Christian, none of them are white-bread, cardboard, overly pious bits of fluff that are too Pollyanna-ish to be believed. Each of them faces temptations, whether it is lust, anger, unforgiveness, or waning faith. I wish more writers had Ms. Kingsbury's honesty about the life of faith. Her skill is such that even if you have missed the other books in the series, you can follow the plot of this one easily. She is a treasure for Christian readers. ****

Karen's books are addictive. I see a new one, and need to order it, and once they arrive I cannot rest until I complete it. In the Baxter family's tragedies, Karen's writing skillfully kept my eyes on the Lord and His gracious promises. The Baxter family became friends and Karen allowed me to become involved in the lives of her characters and I found myself drawn to pray for them. Thank you, Lord, for the beautiful writing gift given to Karen for the benefit of her readers.

Karen Kingsbury is the best Christian author ever. You get so involved in her books that you feel like you should be praying for the family as you read. I have bought every one of her books and given them to family and friends to read. They are then put in our church library so everyone can enjoy them as much as I have. Forever is one of my favorites!
