All of the existing Free footage is found here, including the three songs filmed at their Isle of Wight Festival show in 1970 - "Be My Friend," "All Right Now" and "Mr. Big." The footage has been cleaned up pretty well, and the sound rocks with remastered clarity (unlike the 1989 "All Right Now: Best of Free" CD that slapped 1980s echo, reverb and drum trigger sounds onto the songs). Simon Kirke's wonderfully dirty snare drum sound thumps. Too bad filmmaker Murray Lemer only filmed three of Free's songs. They were great, at the time promoting the vastly underrapreciated "Highway" LP. For the other songs the quartet played at the Isle of Wight, they are available here in audio format, as black and white stills of band shots, concert photos, studio notes, press clipping and other items are seen in a PowerPoint-like fashion. The late guitarist Paul Kossoff's brother has included footage he shot of Free playing at a UK college in 1970, and although there's no sound, what is seen is stunning.
The DVD is a must. If you like Bad Company (featuring Rodgers and Kirke from Free), Led Zeppelin, The Who, Cream, Yardbirds and Deep Purple, you'll also dig Free. Rest in Peace, Paul Kossoff. You were one of the truly great guitarists!

Given the lack of quality footage of Free available, this is a must have for any fan of this band. Along with the Faces, Free does NOT get the kudos & recognition they deserve ... and this DVD set shows us what a superb band they were. There should be no doubt that if Paul Kossoff had lived, Free would have re-united at some point, and showcased their immense talents to a whole new generation of music fans ... a 'dream double-bill' , Free & Bad Co.... with Paul Rodgers handling lead vocals & Simon Kirke the drums for both groups !!

I enjoyed the live songs on the first disc, but it wasn't well organized and there wasn't really a narrative of the band. The live stuff was illuminating, but it wasn't a concert. Rather it was from several different shows. The second disc is audio only and is a live concert, but on a DVD--which is a bit of a pain.
