Just Like the Man Said...,

... this cd is GOLD!I bought it when it first came out in 1990 and I still have it, although I ripped it to mp3 format so I wouldn't destroy it by overplaying it.What makes this cd great is that unlike some greatest hits albums, where they only put shortened, radio-length versions on, this has the original album length versions of some of the Bros' best works. And for all you people who think you know something about rock guitar playing, check out "Hope You Feel Better Love(Part 1 and 2)"! When most people think of Ernie Isley they think "That Lady", which is here and is okay. But when the history of mind-blowing, soul-stirring, sky-scraping,mountain-chopping guitar solos is written, his work on HYFBL will rank right along with Hendrix'"Voodoo Child(Slight Return)and Band of Gypsys "Machine Gun". And he plays DRUMS on the track, too!So, if you get a chance pick this up or the original album it's from, "Fight the Power".No, I'm not selling mine's.Uh,uh my brother, you've got to get your own!

Only two reviews? For a band that is an R&B icon???
I only want to reinforce the thoughts on the first review concerning Hope You Feel Better Love -- killer tune!! I first heard it on a home-made compilation cassette tape that I found in an alley in DC. Took me 6 months to find out this tune was an Isley Bros tune, and another two months to find it on vinyl. Forever Gold is the definitive Best Of collection. Not that many available, so do yourself a favor and get one, while you can.
