This book caught my attention from the very first paragraph. Attention to detail and graphic imagery put you right there, in the room, or alley, or whatever location the characters are in. Whether you like hot passionate sex, graphic violence, mystery, crime solving or history, you get it all with this book. I could not put it down and finished it in 2 days, which for me is a record! Forever Hunger leaves you hungry for more...

Author David Salkin does not disappoint in this surprisingly sexy, horrifically hellacious, suspenseful crime drama. Did I mention the vampire love story? And no, I certainly do not mean the "Edward / Bella" vampire love story. I cringed, I gasped, I was literally horrified - total emotional turmoil in the very best way, yet got my romance kick in all at once. I read the entire book in one sitting! Vivid imagery is used to place the reader right into the plot line. I would definitely recommend this book!

A graphic, violent sexy supernatural thriller quite a combo. Salkin pens a much darker edgier vampire a true predator without remorse. What happens when modern crime solving meets evidence that doesn't fit into a neat little box? Can his pursuers open their minds enough to realize what they are chasing? It's an exciting ride.

Some books make you laugh out loud, this book makes you gasp out loud....in all the right ways. Not for the prude or faint of heart this book is written in graphic detail that puts you in the center of not your typical vampire romance. Actually I would classify it as a vampire-romance-thriller, yeah, he just did that, Dave Salkin created a whole new genre.

Let's get this out of the way - I'm not a fan of vampire stories (or werwolves or shapeshifters, etc., etc.) so I approached this book with a sense of trepidation as I don't like gore and could not finish any of the Twilight books. There is gore, lots of it but Mr. Salkin states this in his foreword, so this is not a surprise. The books starts when a young Prussian corporal by the name of Olmer Bartha is wounded in a battlefield in fighting Napoleon's forces. He is turned by a vampire after the vampire feeds on his fellow soldiers. Why him and not the others? We don't know and this is a mystery that winds its thread throughout the book. The book then jumps to present-day New York City, where Olmer, now going as Adam Priest, lives amongst humans, feeding off prostitutes and illegals - he focuses mainly on women as he gets a sadistic pleasure from drinking their blood with a sexual ecstasy that is ferocious and beastial. He is careful to live under the radar but the police with their modern-day technology become aware of suspicious deaths throughout the city and another princinct becomes involved in the investigation, as well as FBI agent. Other experts are consulted, such as a priest and an ethnologist who both fill in the police on ancient and urban legends. The suspense is heightened when Adam meets a young woman and falls in love - will he become human again or will his vampire urgings overcome any new feelings of humanity? The chase is on as the police attempt to stop him before he can kill again. Positives about this book: -- Fast-paced -- Different - not too sentimental -- Not many typos unlike a lot of self-published works I've read. -- The ethnologist was a cool touch, I thought. What I didn't like: -- Blood, blood and more blood - it got distracting so I found myself skipping those parts. -- The priest's dialect. I find it distracting every time a writer uses dialect in a dialogue - it would have been much simpler to say something like,"They could hear the Carribean islands in his speech" and left it at that. -- I found Sara a bit one-dimensional, I'm sorry to say. If you do bring her back, I hope to see a more complex side of her. Anyway that's pretty much it. Overall I liked the book and read it in two days. :) It was evident that you had a lot of fun writing this!

Oh my God.. I just finished it and I'm so upset that it ended! This has to be one of the best books that I've ever read. John Grishm, move over, I have a new favorite author! This book was so incredibly exciting. I felt so many different emotions, some more powerful than others! ;). No matter what type of book interests you, this one has a little bit of everything. You will be entertained!!

"Diamond" Dave Salkin delivers a fantastic, sexy, page-turning crime novel. I enjoyed every page! The characters were compelling. The wording grabs you and pulls you into the story. Grab a bottle of red wine and turn the pages; a great read!
