THE FOREVER KISS

For years, Valerie Chase has been haunted by dreams of a man she knows only as Cowboy. When she was a child, her fantasy Texas Ranger rescued her from the nightmare vampires who murdered her parents. As an adult, she still dreams of him – but now he’s her seductive lover in nights of erotic pleasure. Yet Cowboy is far more than a dream. He’s very real. And he’s a vampire. For years, Cade McKinnon has protected Valerie from Edward Ridgemont, the sadistic vampire who Turned him. But now, Ridgmont is determined to take her for his own, and Cade is the only one who can protect her. And he means to do just that, even if he must kidnap her to do it. When Val finds herself abducted by her handsome dream man, she’s appalled to discover he’s one of the vampires she fears. Now, caught in a web of fear and passion, she and Cade must learn to trust each other, even as an immortal monster stalks their every move. Their only hope of survival is . . . THE FOREVER KISS.

THE BET - LEIGH COURT

I can make a woman come using just my words...

That outrageous claim by a very drunk Damian Hunt, Viscount Atherton, somehow escalates into a high stakes wager between two best friends: Damian bets his prized racehorse that he can do it... George Beringer gambles his London townhouse that Damian can't.

And the surprising woman George chooses for the bet is not only a virgin, she's also George's very respectable sister, Claire -- and to complicate matters even more, once Damian lays eyes on her, the stakes escalate in the most unpredictable way...

THE BOY NEXT DOOR - HANNAH MURRAY

Isabella Carelli isn't just looking for Mr. Right, she's looking for Mr. Tie Me Up And Do Me Right. In all the wrong places. Fortunately, the right place is right next door. And the boy next door is just about ready to make his move...

DEVIL IN A KILT - NICOLE NORTH

A trip to the Highland Games turns into a trip to the past when modern day Shauna MacRae touches Gavin MacTavish's four-hundred-year-old claymore. What she finds is a Devil In a Kilt she's had erotic fantasies about for months. Can Shauna break the curse imprisoning this shape shifting laird and his clan before an evil witch sends Shauna back to her time and takes Gavin as her sex slave?

HEART'S STORM - LIANE GENTRY SKYE

Sirenia's final breeding moon is upon her. She is the last fertile mermaid of her brood. Racing against a hurricane, she must search out and mate with the only merman who can save her kind--the prophesied Lost Son of Triton. When Sirenia rescues injured Navy SEAL, Byron Burke from drowning, she seals herself into his life debt. When the time comes to ask Byron for her freedom, her heart threatens to stand in the way of the last, best hope for her kind. Heart's Storm by Liane Gentry Skye is a delightful romance mixing an alpha Navy SEAL with a real ocean lady, a mermaid. In this fast moving tale, we have a man of honor suffering from a tragedy which ends up far larger than he realized. Then there's the lovely mermaid who's forced to accept the mantle of responsibility but suddenly comes face to face with the horrible reality that she has to choose between the only love she's ever known and duty. Top it off with a plotting evil villain who is psychotic enough to be an excellent depiction of a sadistic megalomaniac and Heart Storm delivers a fun read. Get ready for a hero and heroine to root for, a great bad guy to boo and hiss at, and a satisfying happily ever after. The Boy Next Door by Hannah Murray opens with a chuckle inducing bathtub scene that had me grinning from ear to ear. The dialogue in the kitchen was incredible and after the wine, oh, my gosh, I felt like I was really there, listening in. And I knew things were going to get interesting especially when Jacob got her to tell him her definition of `vanilla'. There's some great storytelling during that scene which inspires hot flashes. The part when she comes home from running is hot too, lots of excellent build-up and tension. I was totally hooked when the present on the table shows up because Jacob's one word response to Isabella's question about the object ended up being like the firing of the starting gun at a race but the end point in this story is seduction. This is well written, hot and full of fun. I liked this one. Devil in a Kilt by Nicole North is a time traveling romance with a brawny Scottsman under a curse. There's a lot of heart in this story as well as heat. There are a few plot conflicts that interweave, between personal angst, a vile witch and the breaking of the aforementioned curse. I enjoyed Gavin, the hero, and his kilt wearing ways. Shauna, the heroine, was the perfect balance of modern day independence and sexual freedom which put her as the perfect counterpoint to Gavin's alpha Laird. She's not loose or scatterbrained, she is a strong woman who stands up for herself and her dialogue was crackerjack sharp. Also, I liked that Shauna isn't afraid to enjoy the benefits of Gavin's...kilt. Their coming together was pure romance. The battle or skirmish reminded me of the daring do of the old Errol Flynn movies - dashing and manly. It was very exciting. The Bet by Leigh Court is a cute story about two bored men who make a bet and one, Damien, ends up winning something more valuable than a horse. Claire is the virginal heroine whose fascination with learning about other cultures leads to both her downfall and her delight. This story is sweet in that it follows the adage that sometimes the best things in life are right under your very nose. The use of the Kama Sutra was quite clever and it made me laugh. Not that it's laugh out loud funny, though there are a few moments where you smile, but Claire's fascination with it and what it eventually leads to; it's a wonderful tool for seduction and the author used it well. I liked this story too because of the way their love grew, like a taffy-pull. "Should she? Oh, proper ladies don't do that sort of thing. But how do they...?" See what I mean? The Bet is a well told tale of seduction and romance. With this great combination of authors and plots, this anthology is a "must-buy". I highly recommend it. --WHIPPED CREAM REVIEWS - Review by Xeranthemum

FALLEN ANGEL REVIEWS For as long as Valerie can remember, ‘Cowboy’ has always been in her dreams. First he was there to comfort and protect a small child in the aftermath of her parents’ violent death, and as she grew from a child to a woman, he became something much more. ‘Cowboy’ invades her dreams and her body. In her dreams he was her lover, her hero and she loved him and ‘Cowboy’ loved her too. So when her fantasy dreams turns into a nightmare, Valerie feels heartbreakingly betrayed.

Cade hadn’t meant to frighten Valerie, he just wanted to be with her, feel her one last time. Cade learned years before to accept the bond between them. Obviously that night so long ago mentally linked them for all time. Cade knew that should Valerie learn of his role in her parents’ murder, she’d never forgive him. The fact that he was there at all would turn her away forever. She doesn’t remember seeing him, talking with him, or not being afraid of him, when the look about him should have sent her screaming into the night. Instead when the monsters came in her dreams, she called to him to protect her and he could do nothing else but slay her monsters for her.

Valerie is prepared to go cross-country. Having suddenly and suspiciously lost her job, she reluctantly takes another. The very last person she expects to greet her at the airport is ‘Cowboy’. One look into his eyes and she knows for certain it’s him. Valerie never thought that he could be real; hoped and prayed that he was somewhere out there, but didn’t believe it. Now he’s here and he’s even better in person than in her dreams. Then she remembers her nightmare and all she can think is, could that be real also? Would the fantasy lover of her dreams, really grow fangs and want to bite her?

I found The Forever Kiss to be an exceptionally written, refreshing book. Immediately readers are drawn into this story by the very steamy love affair between Cade and Valerie. Angela Knight has written this cast of characters wonderfully. Ms. Knight has captured Valerie’s internal struggle so well, that readers also feel undecided; if she helps Cade her life is forever altered, but if she doesn’t can she live with the repercussions? The Forever Kiss is filled with intriguing questions just like this. The balance of good and evil isn’t always known in this book or that the good will win in the end, but readers can hope that true love conquers all. I really enjoyed this book by Angela Knight. As a new-to-me author, Ms. Knight goes straight to my ‘auto-buy list’. 5 angels!

More About the Author

I've been writing erotic romance since 1996, when my first novella appeared in Secrets Vol. 2. In June, 2004, Jane's Warlord, my first novel, was published, followed by FOREVER KISS in July, 2004 the antho HOT BLOODED in September, and MASTER OF THE NIGHT in October. MASTER OF THE MOON, my next book, hit the USA Today list for three weeks, much to my amazement. Since then I've been writing like a lunatic and having a wonderful time.

I've been married to a wonderful man for more than twenty years now. He's a senior investigator with our county sheriff's office. As a result, I know an awful lot of cops, which is one reason I love putting police procedural elements in my fiction. I also spent ten years as a reporter, which gave me a collection of war stories you would not believe.

My husband Mike and I have one son, Anthony, who is in his twenties now.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book bites! Yee-Ha Cowboy vampires!, August 24, 2004
This review is from: The Forever Kiss (Paperback)
Angela Knight has to be one of the brightest stars hitting the Romance market today. Her Jane's Warlord was in the top 100 sales for Amazon and Barnes & Nobles, and top 10 in Romance sales. A pretty nifty hat trick for a writer's first time novel. She has been collecting a devoted following for her Red Sage Secret's novellas (Secrets #2 "Roarke's Prisoner; Secrets #3 "Blood and Kisses"; Secrets #6 "A Candidate for a Kiss"; Secrets #7 "Kissing the Hunter"). She also writes for Ellora's Cave. This full novel, The Forever Kiss, is her first full novel vampire tale, but another comes out in October 1, 2004 for Berkley Publishing, Master of the Night.

Warning to little old ladies and those faint of heart: move along lil' doggie, for Knight is a sizzling red-hot writer! For those with a more daring soul, Knight is what the doctor ordered. She is a savvy writer that can weave a tale that keeps her reader hooked the whole way. Small wonder this full novel is the first Red Sage non-anthology. Knight came up through Red Sage; they gave her the break, now it's her turn to shine. Since several of her Red Sage Novella's were vampire themes, it's not surprising she leads us into the vampire realm once again.

Edward Ridgemont, a sadistic vampire who loves the hunt and the kill, turned Cade McKinnon. For years, Cade has served as a shadowy protector for Valerie Chase. Vampires killed her family and would have killed her, too, but "The Cowboy" came to her rescue.

At seventeen, she begins to experience flashback nightmares. Anytime her dreams were too troubled "The Cowboy" was there to reassure her. Now, twenty-nine, a full-grown woman, "The Cowboy" still haunts her adult dreams, but as a seductive lover, giving her nights of erotic pleasure. Only, Cade is forced to move to protect her. Edward Ridgemont has decided to take Valerie for his own. and has hired her to ghost his biography, as a means to lure her to him. Cade tries to warn Valerie through her dreams. When that does not work, he tries to call her sister, but since Valerie believes Cade only exists in her nightmares and fantasy, she will not believe it. In order to save her, Cade abducts her. At first, Valerie is not too alarmed by this, until she learns Cade is a vampire, too. Now Valerie is caught between her passion for Cade, the real man, and her revulsion for vampires. She must learn to trust Cade and make the ultimate choice to save both their lives.

I especially enjoy Knights' "remaking" of the vampire. I have always had problems with the evil killers who slurp blood nightly, always found it strange a woman would love a man who went out and "necked" with other women constantly! But Knight wisely addresses these and makes the vamp a much more enjoyable character.

This book bites - sorry for the pun - but it's right on target. Proving Knight is one of the strongest writers in red-hot romance today. She has a strong voice, is able to take old tales and make them fresh. So if you are an Angela Knight fan, you must have this one. If you are a vampire fan, you need to order this stylish tale. Not a Knight a fan yet, and have a daring soul, then don't hesitate to get acquainted with this Southern Belle who eschews fiddliedees and goes straight to
erotic with a capital E.

4.0 out of 5 stars Chilling Vampire Rollercoaster Ride!, November 14, 2004
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Forever Kiss (Paperback)
Prepare yourself for a violent ride in Angela Knight's latest book, THE FOREVER KISS. This romantic title actually yields a gritty vampire tale that chills you to the bone.

Valerie Chase's family was brutally murdered by a group of vampires when she was a young child. Her mother was savagely raped and killed, and her father's life sucked from him. Only herself and her younger sister survived, thanks to Cade McKinnon, another vampire on the scene who refused to kill her, even though his vampire master commanded that he do so.

Years later, Valerie is visited in her dreams by the man she knows as Cowboy. The Cowboy is her hero, who protects her as a child and later makes love to her.

As Edward Ridgeont, the diabolical vampire master, begins his pursuit of Valerie again and draws her to his mansion, Cade steps in to protect her. Though not as strong as his old vampire master, he is determined to protect Valerie.

This story is intriguing, however if you are looking for an erotica romance, this really isn't the book for you. Drawing away from the initial sensual nature this story begins with, this book is riddled with very gloomy and very graphic violence. Cade, the hero of the story, also has sex (I wouldn't say makes love though he seems to satisy the lady well enough) to an other woman and Valerie "sees" this in her dreams. For those of us who like monogamous stories once the hero and heroine meet, this is a real turn off.

For those of you who love vampire stories, this one is a fantastic one. The paranormal elements in this book are top notch. Angela Knight is an extremely profienct and talented writer.

So looking at this book from several angles, it fails as a "feel good" romance and even strips the fun out of the sensual nature however as a paranormal story it's one of the best I've read in a while. Not one to enjoy gratitious violence I think I'll read something a bit lighter next. I would not want to read several stories like this in succession. This is just a personal preference.

Warning -- extremely graphic violence and strong sexual content

5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC READ!!!!!!!!!!!, August 24, 2004
By
This review is from: The Forever Kiss (Paperback)
The Forever Kiss is about Cade McKinnon's wish to kill his former Master and free those in thrall to him. But he needs more power than what he's got and the only one that can help him is the woman who's dreams he share's. Now he must convince her that the only way they can both survive is to join together to defeat the evil Master, otherwise, nothing may stop him.

Cade is a vampire, but known only as "Cowboy" to Valerie, now he'll do everything he can to protect her and her sister.

Valerie Chase is a reporter who has lost her job. She is given an opportunity to ghost write for a eccentric businessman, unknown to her, it is the man who killed her parents and now he wants her for himself.

Once I started this book I couldn't put it down. It was great, there was plenty of action both physical and mental. I really enjoyed the way they both joined together to achieve what they wanted. And their love for each other shone through to the end. If you want a vampire story with some great romance then do not pass this book by.
