FOREVER KNIGHT soundtrack truly worthy music of the night!,
By
This review is from: Forever Knight: Original Television Soundtrack (Audio CD)
As a long-time fan of the series, I originally bought this CD in the hopes of finding a particular piece of music from the TV series, but ever since I first listened to it, I've fallen in love all oevr again with Fred Mollins' darkly lyrical music. An even greater joy was the inclusion of Nigel Bennett as the voice of the series' dark lord "LaCroix", speaking the words and thoughts of LaCroix. The series may be ended, but thanks to this recording, the soul of FOREVER KNIGHT lives on!

Simply FANG-tastic!!!!!!!!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Forever Knight: Original Television Soundtrack (Audio CD)
Being an FK fan to the core, even though I only recently discovered the show, I ran out and bought the CD without sampling it, just the theme music makes it worth buying!!! The vocals of Lori Yates are fantastic...still haven't decided which song is my fave, it's a toss up between the Hunger and Dark Side of the Glass. For anyone interested in listening to some spectacular music...GO BUY THIS CD!!!! You won't regret it!!! I think that Geraint Wyn Davies does a out-of-this-world job on the piano (Nick's Piano Theme has to be my fave piece of the whole CD)....and what can I say, I love Fred Mollin! I have listened to the CD non-stop, for weeks now, without tiring of it (I bet the rest of my collection feels neglected!!!) When can we get another CD from FK????!!! Please let it be soon!!! One truly satisfied customer.

The legacy of vampire homicide detective Nick Knight lives!!,
This review is from: Forever Knight: Original Television Soundtrack (Audio CD)
"Forever Knight" was a fabulous(ly cheesy) Canadian sci-fi series that was filmed and set in Toronto. It lasted for three seasons and revolved around the unlife of Toronto homicide detective Nick Knight, a 700-year old vampire who longed to be mortal and redeem himself from centuries of killing and blood.Much of the soundtrack's score is devoted to the flashback scenes from centuries past, of the bloodlust that consumes Nick, his master LaCroix, and his lover/vampire sibling Janette, so it is appropriately dark and moody, with heavy percussion, ominous strings and sudden crashes. There are softer, gentler songs as well, such as "Suite from Queen of Harps" and "Nick's Lullaby." The music is 100% synth(etic), which may be a turnoff for some but Fred Mollin's music sets the stage perfectly for midnight prowls through Toronto's seedier, darker side. The songs with vocals by Torontonian Lori Yates (originally a country singer) are my favourite parts of the soundtrack. There are four songs from the first two seasons: "The Hunger," "Black Rose," "Touch the Night" and "Dark Side of the Glass." These songs are dark and brooding, played in LaCroix's vampire/Goth club "The Raven" (the actual building was the Fluid Lounge at 217 Richmond W). This is a must-have companion for fans of "Forever Knight," along with the sequel CD "More Music from Forever Knight." There were also three FK novels published: "These Our Revels" by Anne Hathaway-Nayne, where Nick performs in Shakespeare's company, "Intimations of Mortality" by Susan M. Garrett, and "A Stirring of Dust" by Susan Sizemore. Although the show is no longer on the air, the vampiric legacy of Nick Knight lives on through the music of Fred Mollin. Ten stars and lots of happy memories!
