Nora Roberts is an awesome writer and this is just one example of her wonderful, funny sense of humor. I have just about all of her books now.

This was two stories in one and let me tell you, I loved them both. Couldn't put it down! Nora Roberts has most recently become one of my favorite authors!

I haven't been able to read Heart's Victory because Rules of the Game was so predictably boring to get through. I love Nora Roberts but Rules of the Game was a big disappointment.

Ehhh,
This review is from: Forever: Rules Of The Game\The Heart's Victory (Paperback)
These stories started out good, but ended kind of dramatically. In the first one, before the last chapter they were doing fine after the wedding, but suddenly Roberts starts the last chapter with Brooke randomly feeling pissed off at Parks. It was like a totally different book. The last chapter I don't think should have been there.
The second one was like an emotional roller coaster. Foxy was so...I couldn't figure her out. First she's a smart young woman who wants to be loved by Lance. Then she gets drunk and acts, well, like a drunk idiot spurting out all these random things. Why did she get drunk? Then later when they get to Boston and he walks in on her having a bath, the scene has this sensual, romantic feel, and you know they're going to make tender love, or so you think. Suddenly Foxy wants to have hard and rough sex. That doesn't sound like the Foxy from the beginning, or a few other scenes. They have random fights that are not explained well, because the reasons for Foxy's actions were never described, so I could never know what she was feeling. I think the scenes of her realizing that the reasons why she's so uptight and stuff is because of her brother putting racing before her should have been explained a whole lot better. |
