Book Description

June 2003
FOREVER YOUNG, Your Personal Trainer

Now you can benefit from the training experiences Frank and Karen Cuva have gained from twenty years of one-on-one training in their fitness studio in Northridge California. In this fully illustrated book, you can have the same techniques used by hundreds of clients of all ages to reach their goals of an athletic look, housed in a healthy body.

This manual discusses in every day language how to achieve your realistic fitness goals. Over eighty different training programs are included, from the basic beginner to the advanced body builder. Now training can be effective without being dull! Every exercise and piece of equipment is fully illustrated, showing exactly how to perform the exercises correctly, and without injury!

The book is spiral bound, making it easy to open to the workout sheet and exercise directly from the book. It helps you keep accurate records of your progress. Whether in the finest of gyms, or your own home with the most basic of workout equipment, you will find a program to fit your needs.

Most magazine, T.V. commentators, and newspapers, are heralding the medical benefits that can be achieved with regular training using resistant type exercise. The forward on the FOREVER YOUNG MANUAL was written by Doctor Kant Tucker, a kidney specialist, who knows from first hand experience the many benefits to be derived from a regular exercise program. The authors have also witnessed the remarkable results proper exercise can have, with diabetes, high blood pressure, heart attacks, and of course, obesity No super models demonstrate the exercises. We used real people that have had to overcome the same difficulties you have experienced. The models range in age from forty-three to sixty nine. No super genetics here--just people who worked consistently with realistic goals to motivate them.

Review

This book should not stay on the shelf, but in your gym, den, or wherever you exercise. -- Kant Tucker, MD

From the Inside Flap

This manual was written for those people who have walked into a crowded gym and felt the frustration of being lost in a sea of equipment, incredible egos, and blaring music. It was also written for those who have picked up magazines, looked at all the incredible transformations that can take place by just taking the right supplement, and wondered why the same thing didn’t happen to them!

The authors in this book demonstrate how reasonable goals can be attained through proper nutrition, weight resistant exercises, and moderate aerobic activity, at any age. There is no magic bullet in this book! Physical improvement takes time. In most cases we are talking about life-style changes, but those changes will lead to fuller, more active senior years. This manual will show you that your goals are within your reach, and that the results are worth all the effort.

There are 79 different workouts in this manual. All of the exercises are illustrated, and equipment identified, for easy recognition. The training is made simple so the layman or the seasoned athlete can follow the routines with a minimum of effort. With so many routines, training should never be boring.

Twenty years of training experience, and hundreds of satisfied clients, qualify the authors to know your dreams, your expectations, and the pitfalls most people face when starting the journey to a healthy, athletic looking body.

5.0 out of 5 stars FINALLY! A Fitness Book for MY age group!, March 3, 2004
By
WeeJeeCee "Musigal" (Los Angeles,, Ca. United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Forever Young, Your Personal Trainer (Spiral-bound)
WOW! This is a TERRIFIC book, designed to assist rather than intimidate those baby boomers taking up weight training. It has been proven that weight training is one of the most efficient ways to increase strength, preserve metabolism, strengthen bones, and stave off osteoporosis in both men and women; thus, many are taking up the practice. This book is geared to the more mature set, (though the exercises are certainly effective on the younger crowd)! However, unlike books where the photographs usually depict models under the age of 30, this book's every page uses gorgeous models, (male and female), who are MY age and older! You get the feeling when you go from page to page..."hey...she looks GREAT...[I think she's older than ME! YES!!!]...if SHE can do it, what's stopping me?!?" And the male models? Ladies and gentlemen alike will be inspired! It is a veritable treasure chest of solidly supported, time tested, perfectly illustrated KNOWLEDGE in how to preserve one's physical youth, (if not actually turn back the hands of time)! The exercises range from the "oh my GAWSH this is too easy" to "oh my GAWSH I can't believe I just DID that!", carrying the user of the manual from beginner to advanced. The end pages are reserved for tracking your results with already laid out charts. I've been using a number of the routines recommended in the book, and can testify to their efficiency in getting me in GREAT shape! The expertise and knowledge shared in this book will transform many lives, (as it has mine), and I highly, HIGHLY recommend it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, Your own personal trainer IN A BOOK!, March 5, 2004
This review is from: Forever Young, Your Personal Trainer (Spiral-bound)
I've been looking for a book like this for years. One that has several workout plans already done for you, just like a personal trainer would. You learn how to do the exercises correctly and without injury. And you can pick your routines for the type of workout you want; trimming down, looking cut, or building muscle and everything in between. Full body or specific areas and split routines. They are all there. And there are many different routines for each so you can change often and not get bored or get muscle memory. I've given this to several of my friends who work out and they are all using it now.

I love this book. The Cuva's provide a simple, clear, user-friendly, common sense, fun, exercise and nutrition guide for all ages. Owning this book is like having your own personal trainer at a fraction of the cost. As a baby boomer, I am becoming more and more interested in maintaining a healthy mind and body. All baby boomers who want to keep their health, eliminate those aches and pains, feel and look younger, should read this excellent book. Follow the Cuva's expert advice, like I have and feel your health improve, see your weight go down and watch your energy level rise. Read the book and feel young again at any age. If being healthy and looking good is important to you, I highly recommend this book.
