This is a truly inspirational and uplifting book. Personal essays of people who have had serious challenges and/or trials in life, how they survived, and what they learned. I highly recommend this for anyone who is currently going through really hard times, or anyone who has survived them. You discover you are not alone in your stuggles, and that the adage is true: "Anything that does not kill you makes you stronger."

As a woman that has faced many challenges in my life, reading about others certainly helped me to put things into perspective. It is very helpful to know that others have faced trials and have come out on top.

Reading about the trials that these people faced and how they did it with such strenghth and dignity inspires me to find courage to face my own struggles. Their unfailing trust in the Lord helps to build my faith to turn to him should I be faced with similar circumstances.

a must for anyody facing with the "ordinary" day to day trials, or the extraordinary trials each one of us must face in our lives.

This is an amazing book that brings great amounts of comfort to trying situations. The testimonies of the authors are very touching. Elizabeth Cheever did an incredible job! I have given away my "only" copy many times and have needed to buy new ones! This is a wonderful gift for that loved one in your life that needs a little extra comfort and spiritual uplift.

Please be advised that this book is written by Mormons for Mormons. All quotes are from The Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith. Christians who believe in the Trinity and do not subscribe to the LDS belief system should be aware that although the testimonies are heartfelt and the stories sincere, there are no Scriptures from the original Bible text found without some kind of mind twist to confuse even mature believers.
