4.0 out of 5 stars "Good Cop, Bad Cop!" (4.5 stars)
I'm starting to really enjoy the works of Ms. Byrd. She's a great storyteller and this novel does not disappoint.

versus
3.0 out of 5 stars It was pretty good.
It is actually more like a 3.5. I liked Brad alot. Jacalyn kind of got on my nerve a little. It wasn't really what I expected. That is not a good or bad thing though. Her brothers got on my nerve.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better and Better..., July 19, 1999

This review is from: Forget Me Not (Arabesque Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
With in the romantic-suspense genre, Ms. Byrd as few equals. For those seeking less romance, there are other authors. Ms Byrd offers intelligent and plausible storylines, inhabited by credible characters. In short, she tells a good story and is better with each outing. This one is just another example of her expanding skill.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Mystery, January 1, 2009
This was an excellent mystery that kept you guessing about who was involved, etc. Jaclyn "Jack" Mason is a very tough cop going through some very rough times. But she has a heart of gold and cares deeply about her friends and family and especially making sure justice is served. Brad Williams is an undercover agent who's been working for years to bring down a criminal organization. He doesn't expect the attraction he feels for Jack when they meet at her partner's funeral, even though Brad was her partner's best friend for years.

Jack & Brad's relationship progressed slowly and quickly at the same time, but it was very sweet. Her brothers' overprotectiveness was hilarious. And their family had gone thru some painful things so it's understandable why they were so protective of her.

The mystery kept be involved and I was very curious who all was involved and how far the corruption went. My only complaint would be the implausibility of some of the events that happen in the book and what felt like some loose strings. Otherwise, it is a thoroughly enjoyable story. I wonder if her brothers have their own books.

4.0 out of 5 stars If you love romance, mystery - you found the right book!!, September 25, 1998

This review is from: Forget Me Not (Arabesque Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
This was a pretty good book full of suspense and mystery and it was kinda steamy at times, also. The characters, Jaclyn and mysterious Brad are good people, and this is a nice read. I'm not a big fan of cop stories - thus you'll understand my rating. But the family knit is an added plus.

This book was just as good as Defenseless. I liked both characters: Jaclyn and Brad. This book give you all the mystery and suspense as the first. Define page-turner, the book was so good, I read it in ONE DAY!

Another GREAT BOOK Adrienne! Keep up the good work!

5.0 out of 5 stars This was very, very good., September 18, 1998

This review is from: Forget Me Not (Arabesque Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book was excellent. I could not put it down! I loved the hard-nosed character of Jaclyn, yet she was also sensitive. I can image the position she was in being a cop, her mother being a District Attorney, her father being Lieutenant Govenor and her going through all that was happening to her. She had to be tough. Oh, and the mysterious Brad, given the description of what happened when he was a child, I also liked his tough, yet sensitive qualities. This book was just as good as her other, Defenseless. It has all of the mystery and suspense that kept you wanting to keep on reading until you finished. I read it in ONE DAY! I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to read a book with suspense and romance.

I absolutely loved this novel. I just couldn't put it down. It was a well developed story and held a realistic edge. So sorry that some reviewers just don't get it, but Ms. Byrd is an author to look out for.
