5.0 out of 5 stars It helps you understand the importance of forgiveness., March 18, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Forgive and Love Again: Healing Wounded Relationships (Paperback)
It is one of the best that I have ever read. I never really had a problem with forgiveness. However, as I began to reevaluate my life, I found that there were persons that when I thought of them, the memories were not a memory of forgiveness. I had to revaluate and ask forgiveness for a number of persons. I have shared this book with a number of persons and we are hoping to use this book as a guide for our Summer quarter's Sunday School study. The real key is to love again. It is a consolation to know that it is possible.

Today I only have a few moments to write this, so I will update in the future. However, I have to say that I could not wait one minute longer to sing the praises of this amazing book. I will say outright that I believe you do need to be Christian in order for this book to be meaningful to you, as it's lessons are completely based on the Bible and Jesus' teachings. My husband cheated on me with a co-worker (with whom he still works, by the way, and sees/speaks to her on her work days, twice a week) a year ago and I caught him - I found some e-mails between them. He was in love with her, on top of everything else. It has been a difficult year, and I have read multiple books. We have a wonderful counselor, and I do feel she has been instrumental in our success. But without this amazing book to supplement our counseling, there is no way I'd be where I am now. I have forgiven my husband, and we are well on our way to the happiest we've ever been. And I am almost ready to forgive the "other woman", and it feels wonderful. Please buy this book!! I will update at another time . . .

Here I am for an update! That review was written in May 2009 . . . it is now November 2011, and yes, we are still together, and happier than we've been in a very, very long time. We even did have a setback in the beginning of 2010 when he started talking to her again. Of course, like I said before, the book alone is not all you need, but hearing it's words and using it's philosophy really was such a big part of our "recovery." My husband's affair was in 2008 and here we are 3 1/2 years later and doing very well, we are both very different people in a very good way. I bought multiple books, and this one and one other are the only ones I continued to read and use. Do yourself and your marriage a favor and try it. I wish anyone going through what we went through much luck, love, happiness, forgiveness, and peace.

5.0 out of 5 stars Forgive & Love Again, June 6, 2011
Amazing book- This book walked me through a very difficult period in my life, the purchase was accidental. Meaning, it was not the book I was actually looking for when I purchased it. Reading this book helped me have a better understanding of my hurt. Step by step I was able to get things into perspective, truly understand God's love, and what it really means to forgive. And... above all understand God's love for me. Some parts were hard to get though, however. The journey was well worth the effort. I could actually feel the healing take place as my journey progressed. The time, the steps, the effort saved my marriage.
