5.0 out of 5 stars "Forgiven is Amazing"
I purchased this book and completed it within 24 hours. "Forgiven" is so rich in that it shows how when you don't completely forgive that unforgiveness can manifest itself through your actions, it can affect you physically. When you don't forgive, it hurts you the most. The characters display real-life emotions and the book serves as a guide to show the reader how to...

3.0 out of 5 stars Forgiven but not totally unforgettable
A christian love story of hope after an affair. All too often we think of prominent people and leaders within the church as those who should set and keep unattainable standards of perfection and are not allowed to sin. However, this book shows the imperfection and vulnerability of everyone, in the church or not. I appreciated the anguished display of emotion by all the...

Bravo, Ms Miller for letting God use you by writing another excellent series. I can't wait for the next book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Forgiveness Is Easier Said Than Done, July 3, 2010
This review is from: Forgiven (Urban Christian) (Paperback)
Cassandra Thomas a thirty-six year old mother and wife of a former pastor, JT(Jerome Thomas) of Faith Outreach was one of the victims in his adulterous affairs with church members. Despite JT's skirt chasing, Cassandra loves her husband and wants to weather the storm to save her marriage. But with JT's illegitimate child born of an affair with Diane, is Cassandra's faith enough to forgive her cheating husband?

The story was realistic, and at times, I cried, laughed, and cheered. I would highly recommend this book.

4.5 ****

5.0 out of 5 stars Another inspiring read, July 7, 2010
This review is from: Forgiven (Urban Christian) (Paperback)
Another awesome read! 'Forgiven' is the second book of this series. 'Forsaken' was about Pastor JT Thomas', a pastor who's infidelity effects not only his church and ministry but also destroyed his marriage. 'Forgiven' continues the story. It shows JT's struggle to restoration and redemption. Pastor JT Thomas' past infidelity come back to haunt him and his wife struggles to stand by her husband in spite of her own pain. Her pain is so real and raw that if you've ever been in a similar situation, you can truly empathize with her. It was awesome to see her grow in her relationship with God and finally get to a place of forgiveness. The book was so real in human struggle to forgive and be forgiven that it will motivate you take a look at yourself and even open your heart to resolve some of your unforgiveness. 'Forgiven' made me laugh, cry, cheer, think and yes even pray. You will truly enjoy this book as I did. I finished it in one sitting. Can't wait for Vanessa Miller's next read. Vanessa thanks for sharing your gift.

This review is from: Forgiven (Urban Christian) (Paperback)
After reading Forsaken, I couldn't wait for Forgiven to come out. I just could not put the book down, I had to finish it the same night. Vanessa Miller really captures real life situations that everyone can relate to in her novels. Forgiven really captures the true struggle of forgiveness and acceptance. This book is truely amazing and I can't wait until the next book comes out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, August 1, 2010
This review is from: Forgiven (Urban Christian) (Paperback)
Well, Vanessa Miller has done it again, she has not only captured my attention with
Forgiven, but she has also allowed her gifts from God to minister to readers who are familiar with her writings. I was eagerly awaiting the release of this book since Forsaken kept me on edge. You have to read her books to really understand this
review. I am an avid reader of Christian authors. However,I have been really drawn to Vanessa's series because her writing encompases how we actually should follow what the Bible says. We often talk, but when we have to live it our talk changes.
After you have gone through the worst, it is a testimony to God if you can honestly
depend on Him to bring you out, and that is despite of how you feel and what has happened to you. Vanessa can direct hurts, pains, disappointments, and crises to
give God glory. When that happens, you know you are a WRITER. Read the books and you will see for yourself. Vanessa, don't stop keep writing until there is nothing else to say. As long as we keep living you will always have something to write about.

5.0 out of 5 stars What Does It Mean To Forgive?, July 30, 2010
By
This review is from: Forgiven (Urban Christian) (Paperback)
Anyone who enjoyed Vanessa Miller's "Rain/Storm Series immediately becomes a FAN of Ms.Miller.I was defintely hooked on the Rain/Storm series & now "Forgiven." If you are wondering how to forgive someone or if it is even possible to forgive someone, please read "Forsaken" & then "Forgiven." I'm a very HUGE FAN of Ms. Miller's and she has not disappointed me yet! I'm always waiting (impatiently, but yet waiting) on her next novel to drop. I've always read Ms. Miller's books within two days because her books are definitely a page turner! I can always relate to Ms. Miller's characters in her books as well. Characters are very important to me in any book that I read. If you're not a Christian Fiction reader, I encourage you to purchase one of Ms. Miller's books. You will definitely change your mind! I LOVE how Ms. Miller focuses her novels on GOD, FAITH & TRUST. Her novels are so encouraging, yet enlightening. I'm sure we have all dealt with infidelity or know someone close to us that has dealt or is dealing with this issue. Cassandra Thomas has dealt so much with her husband, JT Thomas whom is a Man of God. Is it possible to forgive your spouse/signifant other for infidelity? Read "Forsaken" & "Forgiven" to find out. You will be blessed by Ms. Miller's books as I have. "Is it time for your meeting w/GOD?

4.0 out of 5 stars The right title, July 15, 2010
By
This review is from: Forgiven (Urban Christian) (Paperback)
"Forgiven" is the perfect title for this book. I don't know if I could have done it and at times it doesn't seem like the wife in this book had really done it either. She "talked" forgiven, but she didn't "act" forgiven. There were times that I wanted to sling her out of a 15th floor window and then other times when I had to step back and say, hey...I guess her attitude is understandable. It was realistic because forgiveness sure is easier said than done. Especially when infidelity is involved and ESPECIALLY when that infidelity produces a child. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others.

4.0 out of 5 stars Moving On, July 7, 2010

The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers (RAWSISTAZ.com and BlackBookReviews.net) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Forgiven (Urban Christian) (Paperback)
During the times Pastor Jerome "JT" Thomas entertains his sexual urges with other women, he doesn't harbor any thoughts of how his infidelity will affect his marriage and his relationship with God. When his transgressions are exposed, JT's fervent attempts to save his marriage and renew his commitment to God are the only concerns which occupy his mind. Although he selfishly rips the trust from their marriage, JT wants nothing more than to have his wife to forgive him. Forgiving him is painfully difficult for her because she has lost trust in him and in God. However, she wonders when she finds her trust in God again, will she be able to easily forgive JT.

FORGIVEN is the sophomore novel in the Forsaken series. Vanessa Miller's talent explodes on every page. The fast-paced story depicts real life issues such as adultery, baby mama drama, and deceit, with characters expressing genuine emotions. The story delivers a poignant message on forgiveness; when we ask God for forgiveness, we too must forgive those who have hurt us in order to move on. Powerfully inspiring, FORGIVEN may open the hearts and minds of those who are having trouble finding absolution.
