Lori Rubenstein's newest book, "Forgiveness: Heal Your Past and Find the Peace You Deserve" is a sacred creation, written with love, compassion and of course forgiveness! I found validation that I am on the right path, while giving me the understanding and tools on how to complete my journey to forgiving myself. Lori's gentle spirit and compassion for others shines through in every page. Combining her experience, guidance and expertise with that of other authors, "Forgiveness: Heal Your Past and Find the Peace You Deserve" is just what is needed in the world today! Let me start this review by coming right out and saying, I am not generally a fan of self-help books and rarely read them. But I was told about FORGIVENESS: HEAL YOUR PAST AND FIND THE PEACE YOU DESERVE. A friend who'd read it and raved about it said to me, "You must get this book!" So I did. And I have to say, I could not put it down. As I was reading these well-researched, well-written chapters I knew I was actually learning, gaining actual insight - from this wonderful work that Author Rubenstein clearly spent so much time and love putting together. Rubenstein of course uses her own backstory to set the stage; she is remarkably candid and shares her past and her heart with her readers in a way that is illuminating while never being self-indulgent - and this in itself is a feat. Her stories taken from real people are amazing. The chapter on Forgiving the Unforgivable is breathtaking and touched my heart deeply. I realized, while reading through this amazing book that as many of us do, I carry a lot of hurt and rage about things that have transpired in my own life throughout the years. By the time I finished reading this - I felt as though a huge weight had been lifted, as though a veil had been taken off me. A beautiful, fiercely honest book. I highly recommend it - even to people like me who prefer fiction!

Lori Rubenstein's Forgiveness: Heal your past and find the peace you deserve, is a beautifully written book about the most powerful healing we humans can perform. The reader learns what forgiveness is and what it is not. Her real life stories from people who walked through heart wrenching experiences helps the reader understand we all have the ability to forgive ourselves and others. Throughout Lori's book, I experienced chills of confirmation of esoteric information. For instance, "I feel blessed beyond words to have had those experiences, and I can tell you, of course, there have been many, many other blessings that I have received through forgiveness.", reminded me of my own life and how I've been blessed by forgiving myself. Lori's book, Forgiveness, is heart expanding. Her concepts of forgiveness are easily understood. She included practical exercises, meditations and references to experts in healing, for the reader seeking further help. I now recommend this book to my clients who need to perform their own forgiveness work. Lori Rubenstein has touched the world through her beauty and has made the world a better place for us to thrive!

3 of 4 people found the following review helpful By K. Dauth on October 31, 2012
Format: Paperback
Lori's new book "Forgiveness: Heal Your Past and Find the Peace You Deserve" is written from the point of view of experience. Not only personal experience but, maybe more importantly, experience in helping many people share forgiveness with themselves. As Lori explains, forgiveness is not only about being able to forgive someone but it is mostly about giving, for giving, a gift to yourself. Holding on to anger, resentment and hurt damages us more than the person who is the object of those negative emotions. We can release ourselves from those emotions that effect our physical and spiritual well being while using lessons learned to live a good life.

You may ask "Another book on forgiveness?"

Well yeah, there really cannot be enough forgiveness with the trauma we are presented with daily. However This book is different, there is something in Lori's writing that is fresh, the writing has an energy, a spirit to it, wanting you to read the next word, page and chapter. It has a wonderful balance of innocence, excitement and knowledge.

Buy the book and if you get a chance tune in to one of Lori's radio/web broadcasts or check out one of her seminars; online or in person.

live loved

3 of 4 people found the following review helpful By Michele on October 30, 2012
Format: Paperback
I love Lori Rubenstein's newest book, "Forgiveness; Heal your past and find the peace YOU deserve." She is a brilliant author and really explains forgiveness in a way that you can REALLY understand. When you are finished reading it, you too will be able to forgive. You then can begin to heal your life. It's really easy to understand and her points are excellent. She has some inspiring quotes that really get you to think. She talks about teaching forgiveness with children. I love when she said "our children need to be taught how to think, not what to think." And her analogy to the dungeon;being chained to the person that hurt you for a lifetime. Wow. Very powerful. And, I love the long Mother Teresa quote on page 33. She helps us not only find the door to forgiveness, but she teaches us how to open the door.
