5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Read!!!, October 2, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Forgiving Hour (Hardcover)
This book was such an easy, can't put down read. I loved how the story is told from more than one perspective. This is the first book I have read by Robin Lee Hatcher, it won't be the last. It was a great example of what Christ can do in our lives if we let Him. I rank this book up there with Francine Rivers' "The Atonement Child".

5.0 out of 5 stars Great emotional romance, July 4, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Forgiving Hour (Hardcover)
Twelve years ago, Claire Porter thought her entire life was over when she learned that her husband Dave was having an affair with a college student. Following their divorce, Claire started over by changing back to her maiden name of Conway. Claire now feels pretty good about her accomplishments though she remains bitter towards Dave. She has raised a wonderful son Dakota, enjoys her work, and finally even has a significant other. When twenty-four years old Dakota informs her that he is engaged to marry the woman he loves, Claire realizes that he is six years older than she was when she married. However, she worries about how easy a relationship can disintegrate. Still, she looks forward to meeting Dakota's fiancee even as she wonders if thirty-one years old Sara Jennings is too old for her "little" six foot plus boy.

When Dakota introduces Claire to Sara, all hell breaks loose. Sara turns out to be the other woman who destroyed Claire's marriage. Dave deceived Sara into thinking he was single. She ended their relationship when she learned he was married. However, that appears to have been too late as Claire and Sara yank on the affection of Dakota.

Award winning historical romance writer Robin Lee Hatcher successfully switches forums to provide readers with a spectacular contemporary romance. The inspirational story line centers on how a loving relationship allows individuals to forgive mistakes. The motives of the lead triangle seem genuine and constantly pull at the soul of the audience. Readers will feel emotionally exhausted yet fulfilled by the spectacular relationship drama, THE FORGIVING HOUR, that will hatch a whole new batch of fans for this talented writer.

5.0 out of 5 stars INCREDIBLE TALE!, October 3, 2000

Janet Bly "author and co-author of more than ... (Winchester, ID United States, http://www.blybooks.com) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Forgiving Hour (Hardcover)
When I realized early on what the theme of the story line would be--a young man falling in love with his father's former lover--I thought, "This is not going to work! I'm not going to like this!" But, the author works through this tragic story and makes it finally believable and doable. Every word of every chapter is needed to make the story complete and realize all the stages of love and forgiveness in the face of cruel betrayal.

Of the books I've read in the Christian fiction genre, this is one of the best. I was utterly impressed with the author's ability to write a STORY...something many authors are missing in this time. I love the slight hint of suspense, the inspiring words, the real emotions/reactions, and he overall healing that each character experienced. There weren't too many plots in this one, but the stories were wover together with great care.

I appreciate this author's style--I stepped out on a limb with this one and I wanted to stay there after I'd finished. Pick this one up soon!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Prime Example of When a Writer Shares Her Heart, April 10, 2001
This review is from: The Forgiving Hour (Hardcover)
I love a book that beats the passion of the author's heart. The Forgiving Hour is such a novel. Robin Lee Hatcher has a way of reaching down into the reader's soul. This book tells a tale of a forgiving grace that stems straight from the heart of Jesus Christ. You won't be disappointed. Lisa Samson, author of The Church Ladies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Christian Fiction has a new star!, April 15, 2000
This review is from: The Forgiving Hour (Hardcover)
From the first page, THE FORGIVING HOUR gripped my heart and never let go. The ending is more than satisfying, more than merely happy--it's triumphant! Hatcher's seasoned writing skills shine through--so does her heart for God and his grace.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful message on forgiveness, June 10, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Forgiving Hour (Hardcover)
God spoke to me through this book. I have struggled with forgiveness for years - not with an unfaithful spouse but with other family members. The message is real, and it made me understand exactly what forgiveness is in God's terms. It is a wonderful, wonderful book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and Inspirational, May 22, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Forgiving Hour (Paperback)
This is an uplifting story, beautifully told. It takes a painful experience that's all-too-common in our society and proves that God is bigger and greater and can make all things work out for good. This book is a refreshment from the dark images seen on the news each night.
