Can't Wait for Volume 2!,
By Jay-Woo (Knoxville, TN USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Forgotten Prophecies (Paperback)
I don't read a lot of Sci-Fi/Fantasy books unless they are highly recommended by people who usually don't read the genre themselves. I've read the classics: "Lord of the Rings," Chronicles of Narnia, etc. That being said, I promised myself that if I didn't get into "Forgotten Prophecies," I would stop reading after Chapter 5. Chapter 1 hooked me, and I couldn't put it down. I'm not a morning person, but I woke up early to read this book! After work, I'd go home, kiss my sweetie, and went straight to the bathroom just so I could have some time by myself to read it. If I could've gotten away with reading it at work, I would've read it. The characters are compelling, the story is wonderful, and I can't wait for Volume 2 in what will hopefully be a series. After only the first few pages, there was suddenly nothing else I wanted to read.

I Love this book,
By
This review is from: Forgotten Prophecies (Paperback)
I had the priviledge of reading this book before it made it to the shelves and I must say I am highly impressed with it. Mr. Karnowski does a wonderful job of combining a futuristic time period with a Tolkein-like heritage. Secrets and mystery, character growth and unsettling change are the types of things you can expect as well as travels from Tokoyo-like cities to the depths of the Earth itself. Well worth it, I'm already awaiting the next one.

Very well written, fast paced.,
This review is from: Forgotten Prophecies (Paperback)
One of the best books I've read all year. From the very start, you can identify with the main characters. One is your every-man reluctant hero, the other is your dark side, amplified a hundred times and brought to life. Though they don't have any knowledge of each other, the reader can sense that they're on a collision course from the very start.

A COMPELLING FANTASY TALE!,

Forgotten Prophecies
Anthony R. Karnowski PublishAmerica [...] Genre: Fiction/Fantasy ISBN: 1413725910, $[...], 224 pp, 2004 If you like fantasy, you'll like this story-the never-ending conflict between the forces of good and evil. You have a developing protagonist, Kyr, and a highly evil antagonist, Jamis, with a sequel sure to follow. Kyr and Thoma, his friend, follow Sephteria, an elf girl, into a subterranean world filled with goblins, dwarves, dragons and unique monsters. The entire world is in danger from the Father of Darkness and somehow Kyr is the answer. I am usually not a fan of fantasy but this story is well-written and pulls you right along. I particularly liked the contemporary descriptions of human life on the planet which reflect developing realities of our own time. I also liked the meditative elements which Kyr works to develop in order to gain control and know his potential. It is quite evident that Anthony Karnowski is an accomplished writer with a rich imagination. Forgotten Prophecies is his first novel, and again, if you enjoy fantasy, you won't be disappointed. Thrilling Science Fiction,
This review is from: Forgotten Prophecies (Paperback)
For a first book, Forgotten Prophecies is a well-crafted tale that keeps you turning pages and waiting for what happens next. The narrative is strong, and the characters are complex and compelling. Karnowski is a natural science fiction writer and should have a prosperous career.
