Credit where credit is due - this comic book version of the legendary Drizzt novels is outstanding. The detail and perfect capture of the key elements of the novel made this version as exciting a read as the first time I read the novels.

I would highly recommend the comic book version to all dedicated Drizzt fans.

this book ( or graphic novel--i should say) rocks!! the plot is very well portrayed through Tim Seeley's artwork. Anyone a fan of Drizzt and Salvatore should definetly get this!

Drizzt Do'Urden has left Menzoberranzan, the Drow Elf city of his birth, hoping to find some place where he can feel at home. And now, living out under the blazing sun, he still find himself with no place to call home. Monsters stalk this lighted land as surely as they did the Underdark. There are some kind people who are willing to look past the color of Drizzt's skin, but there are also those who never will. This is the continuing tale of Drizzt's journey - his outward journey across the world, and his inward journey of development.

R.A. Salvatore's Drizzt Do'Urden stories have been a perennial favorite with fantasy story readers, well known for their action and for their gripping storylines. Now, Devil's Due Publishing has brought out this, the third(!) Drizzt Do'Urden story in graphic novel format, and I must say that it is every bit as fantastic as the first! They did a terrific job of capturing Mr. Salvatore's characters, and I thought that the illustration work was excellent.

So, if you are a fan of R.A. Salvatore, or are just a fan of great fantasy, then get this book. You will not be disappointed!

The graphic novel adaptation of R.A. Salvatore's monumental Dark Elf Trilogy comes to an exciting conclusion in Sojourn from Devil's Due Publishing. Drizzt Do'Urden has fled from his home deep under the surface with his faithful companion Guenhwyvar, the magical black panther, always on the run from his Drow who wish to kill him. Despite the sun weakening him, Drizzt cannot help but stare at each new dawn in his strange new world. He comes upon a village of peaceful farmers, observing them from afar, and even killing the Gnolls who want his aid in attacking the small settlement.

But when a family of farmers is murdered, Drizzt is blamed sending a vengeful hunter named McGristle on his trail. Drizzt slays the real killers, two Barghests from the lower planes but finds himself on the run from McGristle, and a party of adventurers led by the Ranger Dove Falconhand. When Drizzt aids them in battle against a group of stone giants, Dover realizes that Drizzt is a friend and ends the search for him. McGristle, though, is driven by hatred and presses on, trailing Drizzt all across the Forgotten Realms. Will Drizzt ever find acceptance in a world that is conditioned to believe that all Drow are evil?

Devil's Due sparkles with the final part of Salvatore's trilogy. One of the main themes of his story was that pall of isolationism. Drizzt is not only an outcast among his own kind, but he's an outcast among all kind. He's constantly harassed and driven away by those who fear him for no good reason often times other than the (much deserved) evil reputation of the Drow. Andrew Dabb's script does a great job of keeping this a focal point of the tale.

The pencils of Tim Seeley, a great team of inkers, and colors by Blond are once again a strong point to the book. Outside of the confines of the Underdark the artists are given a little more freedom to open up their expanse and create a more vivid and rich setting for Drizzt. Fans will be happy to know that Drizzt's adventures will continue in The Crystal Shard and Devil's Due will be presenting more of Salvatore's work with their adaptation of his DemonWars series. Devil's Due pulled off another great win!

This is a great graphic novel based on R. A. Salvatore's book that one will enjoy reading over and over again.

I bought this as a gift for my husband and he loves them. He read the Drizzt novels and really likes R.A. Salvatore. He loves the graphic novels! Make sure you realize before you buy this, that this is not a novel. It is a graphic novel, like a comic book.

R.A. Salvatore is an Amazing Writer. This series is the best fantasy series I've ever read.

this isn't as good as the first two books (the first being the best), but its still pretty good. it's MILES above the three volumes after this (the icewind dale trilogy).

The artwork of this third installment of the Legend of Drizzt graphic novels brings the story to life like never before. Without the restrictions of the gloomy and drab Underdark, the artists have much more freedom with lighting, weather, and color than in the previous two books.

As Drizzt leaves the Underdark and ventures forth into a strange new world, he finds that life will not be as peaceful as he had hoped. With good reason most people distrust and fear drow elves and Drizzt realizes he is going to have a hard time finding a home. As Roddy McGristle tracks him over countless leagues, Drizzt learns quickly of the cruelty frequently encountered in the world. He does however find a companion in the old Ranger Montolio Debrouchee. We also meet Cattie-brie and Bruenor Battlehammer for the first time in this volume.

A story of new beginnings for Drizzt, adapted in a beautiful way that is sure to please.

While the storyboarding is still good and the color work magnificent, the shine is gone from this, the third installment in Drizzt's early saga. The many ads in the book referring to other projects by the authors seem to suggest that they are branching out and have put the Drow on the back burner, so to speak. That's a shame, because the Icewind Dale trilogy that follows was my personal favorite of all of the Salvatore novels.
