Just a warning to people that this is a comic book. It isn't that clear in their description.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastlicious!, April 21, 2008

This review is from: Forgotten Realms - The Legend of Drizzt Omnibus (Forgotten Realms) (Hardcover)
I have been reading the Drizzt books for years now and I have read them all. As a real Lover of R.A. Salvatore's work on Drizzt and his friends, I have longed for a movie or something to show off the beauty of these stories...

Then Devil's Due Publishing made a deal to make these comics of each of the books starting with "Homeland". Each book is divided into 3 48-page comics for a total of 144 delicious pages of beautiful art!

I have been collecting all the comics since they came out, but this release is extra cool because it has the first 3 books all in one Hard Cover edition. That means that it includes the works of 9 separate comics for the 3 books "Homeland", "Exile" & "Soujourn"! This book is now one of my most charished of my collection along with all of my R.A. Salvatore works.

I would recommend this to anyone who likes reading about Drizzt and his adventures!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Book; Rubish Binding, March 13, 2008
By
This review is from: Forgotten Realms - The Legend of Drizzt Omnibus (Forgotten Realms) (Hardcover)
First off I will say that I think the art and story in this book are very good. Andrew Dabb seems to have captured all of the best elements in this comic book version of the novels. The story is fast paced without leaving you with the feeling that you are missing something, though it has been years since I have read the novels.

I would have rated this book with 5 stars except for the fact that the binding did not hold up in transit. This was not a fault of Amazon who packaged the book as well as anything I have received from them in the past. But by the time the book made its way from the US to NZ the interior pages had come completely away from the cover. I think that given the fact that this Omnibus contained Homeland, Exile and Sojourn in the one book a stronger binding that standard should have been used to handle the extra weight of the pages.

My recommendation would be to try to get these books separately so that there is less weight for the binding to hold on to.
