The 5th Graphical Novel of Drizzt's adventurers seems to have been hit by a severe cut in the quality department. The scripts are still strong (not too hard when you follow a written novel), but the graphics seems to have hit a wall. This fifth volume can barely reach up the knees of the superb quality and use of colors in the first two volumes.

Sometimes one can wonder if the graphics departments have never heard of the use of shadows, so plain and momo-colored are some of the costumes. In addittion the way some of the characters are drawn are truly an insult to their original creators.

Drizzt looks more like a goblin than a drow in several of this pictures, and the females seems to be bounching around in size G cups.

Unless reviews show that the Halfling's Gem have picked up in quality, this will be the last buy by me.

The first three books in this series are phenomenally done. Homelands, Exile, and Sojourn are all five star efforts.

The art team changed for this second trilogy though, beginning with the Crystal Shard. The quality was still good, but a bit different. This book, the second of the second trilogy, was a decline though.

As I read this entry in the series, I kept noticing that the main character in a given panel isn't drawn with very much detail - eyes don't have pupils sometimes, hair is a single solid color with no lines, a sword will just be a solid black silhouette, the hilt will disappear into the bottom of the fist, and then come out the top at a weird angle.

Those are all things that I would not mind if they were on smaller, background characters, but that is how major, speaking characters whose face or body will dominate 70-80% of a panel are done.

Any fan of the series will still enjoy it, and the first trilogy is *amazing*, but this particular book doesn't really live up to the standard that the first books set.

It's still worth checking out, though.

I must say, when I heard these graphic novels were getting released, I was skeptical. How was something that I imagined in a certain way going to be represented in a graphic novel, and was the story gonna get cut short.
Well, after reading Volume 1, Homeland, I was hooked. I have read the Dark Elf trilogy many times, and the story was intact. After that I made sure that I added to my collection every time another was finished. I like the fact that the art is pretty consistent, it looks the same throughout the story. Unlike Legend of Huma, where each chapter had a different art team drawing it and the character models were drastically different. I recommend this product because anybody that is going to be looking it up is going to enjoy it, whether or not you have read the original novel. But make sure you start with Volume 1, Homeland.

The story once more gets on its feet and Streams of Silver improves upon the awkward pacing of The Crystal Shard. The art is still poor in contrast to the first three volumes, but the artist at least makes some strides past it being quite so cliche looking. While Drizzt himself still looks old and tired, the section in the center of the text with the Harpells was very lively and it seemed the artist was able to play quite a bit here.

This graphic novel is an excellent way of representing the novel "Streams Of Silver: The Legend Of Drizzt". I look forward to future publications of all novels of R.A. Salvatore.

I'm a fan of all of Bob's books and the fact that they are illustrating them all now is even cooler. I hope they continue to publish them all!
