This review is from: Forgotten Warriors of the Aleutian Campaign (Paperback)
Here is a well-illustrated collection of articles about a forgotten, yet critical, aspect of the war against Japan. Especially interesting are the ancedotes about the Alaskan Scouts--a colorful group of rugged pioneers who provided invaluable intelligence and assistance to the regular Army forces. Imagine an individual capable of determining the presence of the enemy by the sound of a barking kit fox!

First-hand recollections fill the book, and provide a unique, and almost lost, perspective. Credit should be given the author for finding these last veterans and recording their experiences.

More should be written about this subject. I couldn't put this book down.
