"Get a newlywed couple a copy of Fork Me, Spoon Me instead of The Joy of Cooking or The Joy of Sex. It's a quicker read and a lot more fun." -- Juan Carlos Cruz host of the Food Network’s Calorie Commando and Weighing In

More About the Author

A passionate aphrodisiac foods advocate, Amy Reiley is one of the foremost-educated women in food and wine. In August 2004, she became the second American to earn the title Master of Gastronomy awarded by France's culinary temple, Le Cordon Bleu.

As the creator of Amy Reiley's Pocket Vineyard in 1999, Amy quickly established her place in this male dominated industry by introducing the world to the first comprehensive wine program for PDA's. In 2001 she launched the companion program, Amy Reiley's Pocket Gourmet, lauded by Newsweek as the first of its kind. Both the Pocket Vineyard and Pocket Gourmet were named two of Worth Magazine's "must have" PDA programs in 2002.

In 2006, Amy released her first book, Fork Me, Spoon Me: the sensual cookbook, cementing her role as America's leading aphrodisiac food authority. Filling a niche in the cookbook market, demand resulted in the book's second edition less than two years later. The book has been recommended in publications from Glamour to Epicurious to Playboy. Reiley has been featured speaking on aphrodisiacs on The CBS Early Show, Fine Living TV, BBC London and NPR radio, among others.

Amy's second book, Chile Aphrodisia by Rio Nuevo press, was released in June 2006. In June 2010 she released a new book, The Love Diet, with co-author Juan-Carlos Cruz.

5.0 out of 5 stars More than aphrodisiacs, February 17, 2006
This review is from: Fork Me, Spoon Me: the sensual cookbook (Paperback)
This clever diary of an impish seductress does more than define aphrodisiacs: It helps you grasp the method of discovering the sensuality of food. Take the recipes seriously, but more importantly, read the prose for a complete understanding of the delights of culinary temptation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sexy!, June 2, 2007
By
This review is from: Fork Me, Spoon Me: the sensual cookbook (Paperback)
There's nothing better then cooking for your lover and this book turns up the heat! Reilly describes different herbs, fruits and spices and how they can effect the senses. The scent of vanilla, the warm burn of chiles and ginger really do have a soothing, (and sensual!), effect. In the this book, you'll use the sexy ingredients to create such treats as creamy milkshakes, hot honey nuts and triple gingerbread. If you wanna treat your man to a filling meal, (while possibly wearing stilettos), try spending an evening sharing the task of making Moist Mango Meatloaf!

This a great gift that I'm passed on to many friends. You don't have to save something like this for special occasions; Fork Me, Spoon Me is a welcome perspective on food for any dinner, desert - or food play! EVERYONE who loves to cook should have a copy placed next to The Joy of Cooking!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing as a cookbook!, January 7, 2008

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Fork Me, Spoon Me: the sensual cookbook (Paperback)
I am quite disappointed in this book as an actual "cookbook." The prose is contrived and almost comical in its attempt to be erotic, but I can respect the fact that suggestive words and alliterations can be fun, or even inspiring, for some. However, as much as I enjoy the erotic in life, I purchased this book for the express purpose of finding some nice recipes, not just for titillating text, and it is sadly lacking in the recipe offerings. There are some very interesting tidbits on food history and origin, and some of the recipes are indeed delicious sounding -- there just isn't enough of them to satisfy what I was looking for when I bought the book. However, I do find it an amusing read.
