When I first saw these I thought they were a neat idea and not too expensive so I bought a pair to try them out. I was a little concerned as to whether they would be top heavy when used as chopsticks but they are so light in general I experienced no such problems. I am pretty good with chopsticks but if you're not this material might present a challenge to use in spite of the textured ends that give it a better grip on the food. They are somewhere in between standard wooden ones and metal ones as far as ease of use. As for the knife and fork -- they are quite effective for the foods with which I have tried using them (a lot of stir fried dishes and also pasta dishes). For the most part I haven't had to use the knife portion much but it seems to cut fine when I tried it -- still both are pretty thick so the knife might not be ideal for something like cutting meat off the bone. Both pieces feel relatively sturdy so I wouldn't worry about breaking them with added pressure.
Since buying them I have gotten a couple more pairs for my family who all seem to enjoy them.
