The premise is that if you use your forks to put plant-based foods in your mouth, you will not get sick and have to go under the knife in surgery. This is a very informative book and I am gradually implementing the diet into my life. The book is based on extensive studies and is written by very credible doctors. There is a companion documentary video available which we have watched and you will be amazed by it. Especially good for people with serious illness or wanting to prevent it.

Everyone should read this book and/or see the 90 minute movie available. Lot's of information to help you become an informed eater. I watched the movie first and it changed my whole mindset on how and what to eat. I have not become a Vegan but I have changed my way of eating to a 90% plant based diet. Many blessings to everyone.

This is a great summary of Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Esselstyn and Dr. McDougall's work. Rather than introduce friends and family to this great idea of Whole Foods Plant Based diet by reading their books, an hour and a half of DVD will work faster. Then the books written by these doctors can be read for details. I would like to see the DVD over and over to get all the information provided in this one reference. I can't wait to show it to all my family and friends.

For the past 30+ years, I have ranged from a vegetarian to a flexitarian, always omitting beef and pork. I must say that this movie and book have been like a breath of fresh air for me! Since viewing the movie, I have purchased several other vegan cookbooks and am living the vegan life that I love! Duh, how could you not choose to take care of your body...you truly ARE what you eat! As someone said, "I love animals and I love food...just don't want them together!"

Extremely interesting book that guides one with ideas to improve ones diet avoiding processed food and meat, and oils, in order to promote optimal health and lessen or reverse possibly some diseases. Most interesting. Suggest one purchase also the companion book so you have both the technique book and cooking ideas book, to promote easy adaption to changing your diet style to start a more healthy lifestyle and perhaps add years to your own life and your family!

This book has great recipes and wonderful advice. People who are interested in changing the way they eat to become healthier will appreciate not only the recipes, but doctor's comments on why they recommend a this way to look at eating. The way I was raised to eat was all about the meat. Now I am looking at becoming healthier and I am feeling much better with this way of eating.

I read this book but it was actually seeing the film that was absolutely life-changing. The evidence presented from the work of Drs. Campbell and Essyelsten
is nothing short of fantastic. Well worth reading and seeing. Also, if you want more detailed evidence, I suggest reading The China Study which cataloges Dr. Campbell's research in great detail with great footnotes.

I volunteer at my local library and had cataloged books "The Truth about The Food we Eat" It set my mind spinning and my stomach churning...I then heard of Forks over Knives and again realize how important it is to eat 'Healthy"
What I liked the most about this book is ALL the recipes... I pray I have begun on my road to Better Health...Thank you Gene Stone for sharing all the research you did to make this book happen.....

I decided to try this way of eating as an alternative to taking statins. The book is simple,
to-the-point and well written. I have tried some of the recipes and they are very tasty. It
is probably a must-have for anyone intending to go plant-based.

This book cuts to the chase and discusses why people need to eat a plant based diet. Change is a process but understanding the importance of clean eating makes a lot more sense. The author is very against cruelty to animals and rightfully so. I don't think that all farms are as described but it is something to be aware of when choosing what food you are putting into your body and the possible outcomes of the food choices that you make.
